Aubrey was a little indian at her preschool. They shucked their own corn, made their own mini-pies, had a huge Thanksgiving feast and even made a ginormous teepee.

For Thanksgiving this year, we drove down to Corpus Christi to visit both families. We had a great visit and lots of great food! We have so much to be grateful for-especially our family and the blessings of the gospel. The picture above is of the girls and their cousins, Kaikoa and Don together in Corpus.

Thanksgiving Dinner at Nana & Tata's

A shortlived picnic with the Smiths. It was a beautiful day, so we thought we'd picnic at the park. However, tons of bees decided they wanted to join us. Within minutes we were outta there! So, we ended up having a lovely picnic..... in my parents dining room.

We had a fun-filled Halloween this year! Aubrey was a beautiful Sleeping Beauty and Ella was the cutest Minnie Mouse ever. They scored big on candy and even shared some with their mom and dad. Yea! The other day, Ella was trying to get me to get her candy bucket down from up high to get a piece of candy and in desperation actually said to me, "Trick or Treat!" She learned that those words were magic that Halloween night. =)

Another girl?!

Well, about a week or so ago, I had an ultrasound. The sonographer "thought" it looked like a girl. It wasn't a very definite call, so we aren't really sure, but I guess we'll call it a girl until another sonogram confirms it. If she was right, we will have a housefull of girls! Poor Joey! =) He is used to it though. He was the youngest in his family, with 3 older sisters, so I think he can handle it. I guess he will be forever surrounded by barbies and baby dolls=) We are very happy- girl or boy. We feel blessed that the baby's measurements were perfect and that she/he looks healthy. We look forward to meeting this little one in March!

Joey's boss gave us 2 really awesome tickets to the Dallas Cowboys vs. NY Giants football game last week. It was my first time to go to an NFL game and it was a lot of fun! I couldn't believe how close we were to the players. Only negative, Cowboys!

Plano Balloon Festival

A couple of weeks ago we were able to attend the Plano Balloon Festival. It was a lot of fun and we made many memories. We saw hot air balloons race, skydivers and ended the night with fireworks. It is something we will definitely try to go to every year.

Settling In

Today marks two months that we have lived in our home here in North Texas. It seems a lot has happened in such a short time. For those of you that don't know, we found out in July that we are expecting our third little one on March 27, 2007. We are SO excited for this little arrival! I hit 13 weeks this week and will be officially in my second trimester next week. Yea! A third of the way there! The girls are excited too and they have both ordered a brother.... we'll see next month at the sonogram=)

We celebrated Aubrey's fifth birthday on September 10. We can't believe she is already 5! To celebrate, we took her iceskating and rode the carousel at the mall nearby. We then had cake and icecream just the four of us here at our home. It was a really fun day for all of us. Ella keeps asking when her birthday is now. =) Also, Aubrey started preschool a couple of weeks ago and she is really loving it. They grow up too fast!

Well, Ella is just about potty-trained which is a huge thrill for us. I need at least a few months diaper-free before a new baby comes! She is talking more and more each day and has actually become a little singer. Every now and then I'll just hear her singing to herself while she is playing with toys and it is the cutest thing. Tara moved to the Dallas area a couple of weeks ago and the girls have both loved her and Chloe's visits as you can see. Ella calls Chloe, "Koki."

Work and school are keeping Joey extremely busy. We are counting down until June which is when he will finally have his bachelors! It has taken so long with him working full-time and with the moves, but the end is finally near. We are going to party this summer!! The girls keep me busy and we are enjoying playgroup each week and going to the library.

We love our new home and neighborhood. We have very friendly neighbors nearby which has been a huge blessing. We look forward to the coming year and are happy in our new place.

Family Reunion '06

Home Sweet Home
(at the reunion anyways)

We got back from our summer vacation last week(July 4th weekend) and we had a great time! We first drove to Sacramento Mountain Retreat in New Mexico for the Boyd Family Reunion(my mom's side). We were there for 3 days and the girls had a lot of fun exploring and playing with their cousins. We loved being in the mountains. It was wonderful to feel the breeze and the cool evening air. With the temperature today in Dallas being a high of 106, it was a nice change! There were so many people at the reunion this year and we were happy to be apart of it. Click on the Adams Family link at the upper right of the blog for more pictures I posted from the reunion.

Clifford the big red dog came to Barnes & Noble for a special storytime a few days ago. I was surprised that Aubrey wasn't really afraid(like she is of Chuck E Cheese). Maybe because the dog that came really wasn't all that "big" or maybe because Chuck E Cheese just has a freaky mouse face. I know I was scared of him when I was little and I still am=) Anyways, the girls were SO excited to meet Clifford:the not-so-big red dog.

Yee haw!

Today was a nice day for a picnic. A little cloud cover and even a breeze! We had lunch with Joey at the Central Park in Frisco. Its just a small little treed area with benches and a little stream running through it. It also has sculptures of cattle from the "Shawnee Trail" that were driven through this area long ago. The girls thought they were pretty cool and Joey, well, he decided to go for a ride. Ride 'em cowboy!!

Under contract!

We have found a home! Yippee! We love it. It officially went under contract today and we have the inspections set up for tomorrow. Pray that everything goes well! If it does, we will close July 20. We're excited...

More Buda Bits

Just wanted to add pictures from our last Buda event. These are from the Library's Summer Reading Kick-Off Party. There was music, balloon animals, face painting, crafts and the "Jigglebug Express". This little make-shift train was at every Buda festival, parade or party and the girls loved riding it! It was basically a tractor with a few additions=) Buda is a simple town....

Face painting. Aubrey's request-a purple unicorn please...Of course Ella wanted the same.

Here is a picture with the librarian Ms. Martha and the girls friend, Cole. He was almost exactly Aubrey's age and they played well together. Every Wednesday morning we were all at the library for storytime and Ms. Martha was the best, so animated and so loving towards the children. She knew each child by name. We will miss them...

Something we did quite often at our neighborhood park was kite-flying. Joey took this picture to the left-I think its a cool shot of Aubrey flying her kite.

I love Ella's smile in this one to the right. She was so first. She only lasted a couple of minutes=) Then she ran to the playground.

I just had to add this one. Its from another time we went kite-flying with Joey's parents. Joe was trying so hard, on a not-so-windy day, to try to get the kite flying. Check out that stride!!

Goodbye Austin,Goodbye Buda

Our family-June 3, 2006

Hey everyone! We are finally pretty much settled into our apartment up here in Plano, Texas. I've been meaning to set up our blog for awhile. We have enjoyed reading everyone else's-this is such a great idea!
Anyways, we are doing pretty good, busy house-hunting in north Dallas. For those of you that don't know, Joey's office relocated to Frisco, which is just north of Dallas. It all happened so fast! It seems like we had just moved to Austin-well, I guess we had=) We were there only about a year and a half. We were sad to leave that area. We were in Buda, a great little town just south of Austin and we have many memories we will never forget. The weekend before we left, Aubrey had her dance recital and did soooo great. I know we are partial, but she was the best one out there=) She was in a combination, ballet, tap, gymnastics class every Tuesday since August and it was the highlight of her week. It also really helped with her shyness. To the right, you'll notice her pose very similar to Jenna's=) Below is also a picture of her with her class after the recital. She is second from the right. Such sweet little ballerinas. . . . .

We were happy to have so much family come and visit this past weekend right before our move. My mom and the boys and Joey's parents, sister and nephews all came up for the recital. It was a full house! The girls loved it and so did we. One night, we decided to take everyone to Congress Bridge in Austin. It is the home of the largest urban bat colony in the world. We thought all the boys would get a kick out of it. Right at dusk, millions of bats fly out from under the bridge and it is quite a sight. They seriously fly right over you, which worries me a little bit. Everyone tells me they won't fly into your head, however I just always have this feeling I'll be the one person that one smashes into(or is attacked). So, I like to stay low. Joey had the idea of attaching a bunch of fake bats to your body and running around screaming like you were being attacked. We laughed at that idea, considered it for a couple of minutes, then decided no, it may traumatize children. Anyways, its fun-you just bring a blanket, snacks, and wait. It is a beautiful area with trees, right by Town Lake. Here are a couple of pictures from when we were there-waiting for those freaky bats. . .

A couple of bats flying over Joey. . .

It was so nice to have family come and visit. They were also a big help with us having to move two days later-keeping the girls entertained & helping us pack a few things. The girls loved spending time with family. . .

So, now the weekend is over. It was sad to say goodbye to everyone, but we will see everyone at the reunion, right? Monday, the movers came and packed our stuff. Tuesday, it was loaded and taken to storage. We packed a few of our own things, valuables, photos, irreplaceable items, clothes, toys, and some food to take with us to corporate housing. The girls tried to help, but had more fun playing in the boxes as you can see. . .

We arrived here Tuesday night. So far, the girls love the apartment. Its also nice to have a pool to take them to this summer. Its like a little vacation. We are also excited to have aunt Cindy not too far away, so we aren't alone! We get to see her tomorrow-yea! Well, wish us luck as we embark on another adventure!!!! Hopefully we find our new home soon. Take care everyone.

We'll keep you posted. . .
