Best friends

The other day I heard Ella say to Aubrey, "You're my best prend Aubrey." Aubrey replied, "You're my best friend too." It just melted my heart. They really are each others buddies. As they get older, friends will come and go, but they will always have each other. I hope they always remember that. They sometimes drive each other crazy(and me too:), but all in all they have a really special bond. I look forward to when Cali gets older and can join in the fun. Three beautiful little girls-we have been so blessed!

Johnny Lloyd Rollins

A friend in our ward at church is an awesome musician. We swear he will be super famous soon! He's already getting big in the UK. He is actually the kids primary chorister in church. He does a great job! All the kids love Brother Rollins: primary chorister by day/superstar by night:)

Anyways, his website is:
He gave Joey his demo CD last week and we listened to every song. ALL of them rock-and thats something you usually can't say about a CD. My favorite songs are Lets Be Poor Together, Target for Tonight and Miss Sugar Pie. Check out the website and listen to his music-he is amazingly talented!

Baby bunnies!!

About a week and a half ago we saw a bunny making a little burrow right smack in the middle of our backyard. Our grass had gotten a little tall from all of the rain and I guess she thought it was the perfect spot. It was so fun to watch her build it. Last week, we looked inside and it was empty. Well, this past Sunday my sister checked it and inside were four little baby bunnies. The girls were so excited! Every day we check it to see if they are doing alright and how they are growing. They are growing so fast! Their eyes opened yesterday and they are starting to move around and try to hop out already. Its been fun for all of us to watch!

Here they are on Sunday-eyes hadn't yet opened

This picture is from today. If you look close you can see their little eyes are opened. They are so cute!

Cooking with the gals

This weekend my mom and sister came and visited. We had a lot of fun together and I was so sad to say goodbye:( It was some much needed girl time. While they were here, we made this yummy treat called an Oreo & Fudge Ice Cream Cake. I'll post the recipe on the recipe blog. It was delicious!

A Deep Thought by Jack Handey

"Contrary to popular belief, the most dangerous animal is not the lion or tiger or even the elephant. The most dangerous animal is a shark riding on an elephant, just trampling and eating everything they see."

Aubrey's famous!

I submitted a picture to our citys Kids Magazine(the candid kids section) of Aubrey and her friends from their school program. Well, we got it in the mail on Friday and were so excited to see it made it in. Aubrey was stoked! She's famous! :) Check it out~

I need my nursing pads!

We decided to have the girls ride their bikes out front the other day and as they were getting ready, Ella yelled, "I need my nursing pads, mom!" She meant to say "knee pads" and we laughed pretty hard. A little young to be nursing I think.. :)

Grrrr! She makes the funniest face when she gets going

Sweet baby

Our little Cali will be 3 months old next week. Time has seriously flown by! She is a wonderful happy baby-you can always count on her for a smile. She also has been sleeping through the night since about six weeks old. She sleeps at least 8 hours straight at night and then goes right back down for another 3-4-its awesome! All three of my girls have done this-I am SO lucky. Here are some pictures I took of her yesterday. She is our little sweetie...

Another big step for Aubrey-swim lessons

Anyone that knows Aubrey knows that she has had a huge fear of water basically since she was a baby. So, going to swim lessons was a big deal to her. She was so nervous about it, but thankfully, she just completed it and she is now a little swimmer! It was neat to sit and watch her as she overcame fears and learned new things. It was also tough at times to watch because I knew how scared she was at times. I knew she had to do it though and we both made it through:) Thats one of the best things about parenthood, watching your child learn something new. The look on their face as they finally figure something out or overcome a fear is the best. Last year, we could barely get her to put her face in the water and as you can see from the pictures, she is now swimming! All it took was for her to overcome this fear and now she wants to swim everyday!

Thats her!

We're so proud of you Aubrey!

The 3 most important guys in my life

These girls are lucky to have a dad like Joey. He is the best dad and husband in the world! I love you!
Here's my dad holding Cali for the first time. He is a good father, a sweet grandpa, and loves his girls so much. We miss you and hope you get a good backrub today:)

Here's Tata reading to his girls. You'll always find them climbing on him, playing, or reading together. He's a wonderful father and grandfather and always spends every minute he can with his grandkids. Hope you are having a great Father's Day Joe!

Happy Father's Day! Thank you for all you do for us! We love you!

Can you spot something different about Aubrey in these two pictures?

Aubrey got her ears pierced today! She decided she wanted to get her ears pierced this week so we went to the mall today and she did it! She was nervous and started to panic a little in the chair, but once it was over, she was SO happy. You should've seen her strutting around the mall afterwards feelin all cool:) She was so proud of herself and we were too. She looks so grown-up! Afterwards we took the girls to ride the carousel, had lunch at the food court, and then had some icecream. We are so proud of our big girl.

Deep Thoughts by Holly

Its late at night, Joey is doing schoolwork, and I'm well, bored. I should go to bed, but I'm sitting on the couch pondering. In my ponderings, I have come to the conclusion that there are just some things in life I will never get. Like, for instance, why are there the two sets of doors as you enter Target? One set is the automatic open doors, the others are the ones where you have to manually open them. Who in the heck is actually going to physically pull open a door, when there are doors right next to it that magically open as you approach them? This bothers me....

Another thing I just don't get- the juice label industry. I always have a hard time choosing juice. There is the honest 100% apple juice, no confusion there- its the other juices that confuse me. Why is it that when I look at the ingredients of Juicy Juice's "grape" juice, the first ingredient in the ingredient list is apple juice? And with Capri Sun's "Strawberry Kiwi" drink, you would think the main ingredients would be strawberry and kiwi juice. Wrong. It is pear juice. The second ingredient, apple juice! So, why isn't it called pear apple? Kiwi isn't even on the list at all. Do they think we're stupid? Or are they just stupid? I don't know, but these people are using trickery and I just don't like it. Not one bit.

Well, I'll go to bed now. I think I'm either on a roll or delirious. If you're lucky I will add more Deep Thoughts to my blog as they come to me. Stay tuned..... and goodnight.

Rolie polies everywhere!

We have been outnumbered by rolie polies lately and the kids LOVE it. I am finding them all over the patio, our front porch, in Ella's pockets, in the house-its rolie polie madness! Here are the girls with their friends, Courtney & Alyssa, in our backyard after collecting about a million. Thats whats in each of their hands and they are so proud! Gotta love those little poop-eaters(not the kids, the rolie polies:)

Houston trip

This past Saturday we went to the Houston Temple to be there for my uncle's family sealing. It was a very special day for them and we feel blessed we were able to be there.

We didn't have anyone to watch Cali for us, so during the sealing Joey did a photo shoot of the girls while walking around the temple grounds with Cali in the Bjorn. What a great daddy! I really appreciate him doing that so I could be there at the sealing.

Ella, of course, has to make a silly face in just about every picture:)

Look! A squirrel!
Cali was so good on our trip, but the five minutes before we got to the hotel she started to lose it. However, once we got into the hotel and laid her on her tummy, she was so happy to stretch! You can tell she has tired eyes in this picture, but she was still smiling.
Our 3 girls enjoying some relaxation at the hotel

On the way home(it was like 6am and the girls are in their pjs), we just HAD to stop at this ginormous statue of Sam Houston. Aubrey insisted we stop. It is right off the freeway on the 45 and it is so crazy huge. We look like ants next to it.There was also this statue of Sam Houstons head on the ground-I think to show you how big it is. Well, here is Aubrey pickin his nose. This picture was actually my idea, not the kids. Childish, yes, but thats just me:) Aubrey got a kick out of it, but Ella did not approve.

Everyone loves a brown-eyed girl

I saw these shirts at Target the other day and had to buy them for my brown-eyed girls. We're still not sure what color Cali's eyes are. They look different colors on different days!

Our mischievous one

I bought the girls these adorable jewelry boxes not too long ago at Kohls. The girls absolutely LOVE these boxes. Ella in particular, has turned it into her box of treasures and special things. I have also recently found out its her place to hide things. The other day she was in her room with the door closed. I immediately knew she was up to suspicious activity. As I walked in the room, she was trying to close her jewelry box(which wouldn't close all the way because of the item she had placed inside). I asked, "What did you put in your jewelry box?" She replied, "nothing" with this mischievous smile. I opened it and what was inside? My ipod.
