Baby bunnies!!

About a week and a half ago we saw a bunny making a little burrow right smack in the middle of our backyard. Our grass had gotten a little tall from all of the rain and I guess she thought it was the perfect spot. It was so fun to watch her build it. Last week, we looked inside and it was empty. Well, this past Sunday my sister checked it and inside were four little baby bunnies. The girls were so excited! Every day we check it to see if they are doing alright and how they are growing. They are growing so fast! Their eyes opened yesterday and they are starting to move around and try to hop out already. Its been fun for all of us to watch!

Here they are on Sunday-eyes hadn't yet opened

This picture is from today. If you look close you can see their little eyes are opened. They are so cute!

That is so cute. I want a baby bunny. Not really, but I want to look at a baby bunny. We had a baby mice nest in the middle of our backyard in Dallas..except we didn't know until Allen chopped their heads off with the lawn mower. Pleasant. Then he said it was a good thing because it sure would stink to have mice in the house. It was all pretty morbid. Your bunny story is much sweeter!

LOL. kinda sad though....but still...more funny than sad. so, how did you know he had ran them over? were there mice heads flying everywhere? ok, so that sounds disgusting. i'm a sick sick girl.

What a neat thing for you and your girls to watch. I bet they loved checking on the bunnies everyday.

That is so odd....remember just last year when I had baby bunnies in my back yard and chopped one of them to smitherines with my lawn mower??? Guess I'm pretty morbid too, must run in the family.....

Yes, that was sad. I'm hoping Joey doesn't somehow accidentally do that when they start to hop around. That would be awful. Mice are one thing, but bunnies would be so sad. I felt so bad for you when that happened! Well, I guess it made a nice dinner though. I know how you really enjoyed your roast rabbit...

Holly, I still think you should wait until they get just big enough, then eat them all. Okay, okay, not really, but they sure look cute enough to eat. Was your friend calling the bunnies gross or was she referring to something else? I never thought "bunny" and "gross" could exist in the same sentence unless you were referring to the slaughter of one by a lawnmower.
