We had a busy and fun Independence Day! We started off the day with a blueberry pancake/whip cream/strawberry syrup breakfast. Red, white, and blue, get it? I was being a little creative there:) Then we took the girls to the pool which we haven't gotten to do in a while, so they had a blast. The weather actually cooperated yesterday. There was no rain-it was a miracle!!
Later my Aunt Cindy came over for a delicious bbq steak dinner courtesy of Joey. He is great at the grill! Cindy also brought over a yummy treat!
The fireworks in our city were cancelled, so we headed out to a neighboring town. It was a little bit of a drive and there was traffic on the way home, so we got home really late(which the girls thought was cool). The best part-they all slept late in this morning! Yea for me! Our neighbors, the Killian's, from across the street came with us also.
Aubrey & Ella had sooooo much fun with their friends, Tabitha & Kayla.
Watching the fireworks
Well, I got home with spit-up on my shoulder, a mosquito bite on my forehead and blue lips(from the cookie's icing)- all true signs of a great time. :)
I am so grateful to live in this wonderful country and for all of those who have fought and are still fighting on our behalf. We enjoy so many freedoms here and are so blessed. We hope everyone had a wonderful Independence Day!
