Our Little Kindergartner

Aubrey is loving Kindergarten. Every day she comes home loving that day even more than the day before. The morning of her first day she was excited and nervous at the same time. We said our goodbyes in the hallway and she walked right in. I was really proud of her. When we picked her up later, we had the video camera going in the car and asked, "So, how was your first day of school, Aubrey?" She said, "Good. " And then she continued by listing all of the negative things she could think of. I turned off the video camera and said something like, "Tell us all the good stuff first, ok?" You know how it is, you want to get the fluffy nice stuff on video:) She had a good day overall, but she is just the type that is sensitive to any other child saying anything mean to anyone, even if its not her they are talking to. And it sounds like she has a "fun" little girl(said sarcastically) in her class. But what class doesn't have a little brat, right? So, the first day was "good" but the next was "great!" And then its just gotten better since. She feels completely comfortable there and is excited every morning to go. She told me the 3rd day, "You don't have to walk me in today if you don't want to mom." I was like, "Ok......." :( I guess she doesn't need me anymore:) She has made many new friends and loves her teacher. Here are pictures from her first day drop-off. I surprised her with a High School Musical shirt that day and I think she looks pretty stylish:) Doesn't she look so grown up? I'm surprised we made it through the morning tear-free, mainly because I cried the night before:) I got it all out early!!

Ready to go!

I'll miss you, Ella!
A big hug for Mommy(notice all the gear I'm carrying, we had to video AND take pictures of course!) A kiss from Daddy
I love you Cali!

What a cute kindergartner! Very nice shirt and denim skirt! I'm glad you did a good job Holly. I was thinking of you that day and sending you happy thoughts! :) Oh, and I hope you had a great birthday! I'm sorry Joey wasn't there. Are you going to celebrate it when he comes back?

Thanks Kim! Joey gets home Sunday. My sister is coming today to visit. She and the girls will make a cake tomorrow for when Joey comes home. Then we can celebrate my birthday together as a family. Yesterday, my great friend Melissa made me a cake and had us over for a little party. She did so much for me. I was taken care of and had a good birthday!

She is so grown up -- and I"m with you, I cried everytime I sent a child off to school for the first few days. You just want the teachers to know what wonderful little people they are and be kind to them. She sounds like all is well in her world and that's awesome.

Wow, I can't believe our little Aubrey Ann is now a kindergartener. They simply grow too fast for me. My baby has a beautiful family with girls of his own, I don't think I would have been able to see her off without tears in my eyes :(, she is so beautiful. Love to you Aubrey Ann I'm glad your happy about going to school. We love you baby girl.
