Our Little Kindergartner
Aubrey is loving Kindergarten. Every day she comes home loving that day even more than the day before. The morning of her first day she was excited and nervous at the same time. We said our goodbyes in the hallway and she walked right in. I was really proud of her. When we picked her up later, we had the video camera going in the car and asked, "So, how was your first day of school, Aubrey?" She said, "Good. " And then she continued by listing all of the negative things she could think of. I turned off the video camera and said something like, "Tell us all the good stuff first, ok?" You know how it is, you want to get the fluffy nice stuff on video:) She had a good day overall, but she is just the type that is sensitive to any other child saying anything mean to anyone, even if its not her they are talking to. And it sounds like she has a "fun" little girl(said sarcastically) in her class. But what class doesn't have a little brat, right? So, the first day was "good" but the next was "great!" And then its just gotten better since. She feels completely comfortable there and is excited every morning to go. She told me the 3rd day, "You don't have to walk me in today if you don't want to mom." I was like, "Ok......." :( I guess she doesn't need me anymore:) She has made many new friends and loves her teacher. Here are pictures from her first day drop-off. I surprised her with a High School Musical shirt that day and I think she looks pretty stylish:) Doesn't she look so grown up? I'm surprised we made it through the morning tear-free, mainly because I cried the night before:) I got it all out early!!
