The Primary Program

The girls participated in our church's annual Primary program at church this Sunday. This was Aubrey's second time to have a speaking part and Ella's first. We knew Aubrey would do it(not without being terribly nervous of course) but were unsure of Ella. Ella is our normally less cautious child, but when it comes to standing up in front of people(other than her family) she usually refuses. Her and Aubrey are both shy girls, but shy in their own ways. But she did it! And we were very very proud of them both. Aubrey had her part perfectly memorized, but became a little confused when someone handed her her part on a slip of paper. So, she sort of looked back and forth and accidentally jumbled the words. Her part was "If ye have faith, ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true." Well, she accidentally said, "If ye have faith, ye hope for things which are not true, which are seen." :) It was one of those cute primary moments. We didn't know if she realized she had said that but at the end when she came to meet us, she immediately said disappointedly, "I messed up." We tried to reassure her it didn't matter and that she did a great job but she was disappointed in herself, being the perfectionist that she is. She got over it quickly though and even laughed about it later. Ella's three year old class was supposed to say something that they each do to help others. Ella's part was "I help my mom fold laundry."(she really does and does it well!) It was really cute. And during the whole program she sang her heart out and kept waving at us. All of the children did a great job with their parts and singing the songs. We really felt the spirit listening to these precious children bear testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. It was a wonderful sacrament meeting!

It is always so hard to see if they will do it that first time. I'm proud of them. I know it has always been so hard for my kids. Nathan's program is in 2 weeks. It is so fun to watch the children. It is always such a great testimony builder. And usually pretty cute, with a funny child in there somewhere. Your girls are adorable!!

That's awesome that they did such a great job. I hate being in front of people too, so I feel their pain. :) Go girls!

I love Aubrey's little slip-up. I think it is better when the kids say something funny, that is what makes the Primary Programs so classic. That and the loud Sunbeam microphone talkers. So cute! Those pictures are unbelievable, as usual. Why didn't I marry a photographer????
