Parade night

Friday night we went to the local Christmas parade. The girls were really excited to go and see all the lights and decorated floats. I think Ella and Aubrey were slightly disappointed though. They were expecting big hot air balloons like at the Macy's parade we watched on TV not too long ago. Sorry kids, not in our podunk town:) No, but really, they had a great time.

Aubrey all ready to go

Christmas Candyland floatA float full of toys. I think the gray bear thing in the middle was a little scary looking. If he had jumped off that thing, I would've took off running. I know my kids would've too. He had red beady eyes.
The kids loved the marching band and dance team. I did too. I wanted to get up and dance with them, just not wearing one of those ridiculous costumes. Gosh, I'm not a very nice person sometimes.

You may be wondering, where was Cali? She was asleep pretty much the entire time. She jolted slightly when the marching band passed through, but thats about it. She was exhausted from her long day of crawling around the entire house.

Holly-I just love you! You are so funny! I'm glad we have blogs to keep in touch!:)
The parade looks fun! My family lives in a small town in Utah, and they always have things like that for all of the holidays--I think it's so fun!...but I agree with you about freaky-gray-bear guy...yikes!...did he throw taffy?...that would have helped!

Once again, the Duenas family partying it up! I love hearing about your fun-filled family weekends. The girls look adorable, as usual! I think you could have really worked the dance team costume, by the way!

Look how cute your girls look all bundled up! Love the excitement on their faces -- and I too grew up in a small town and anything was exciting to us!

Those girls are always so stylish. Love their little boots! So cute, and it looks like y'all made some good (and one very creepy) memories.

ok, so i was exaggerating a little when i called our city podunk. it actually isn't that small, but for the size of the city, i think the parade was a little podunk. :)

Cute sweaters and hats, but what about the coats and gloves...oh wait, that's right, you live in Texas. I'm so moving back there. I hope Rand gets a job there so he can come too. :) Oh and my computer must be ghetto cuz I keep trying to do your map and it never fully loads. So I'm sorry for being a slacker friend. Maybe you could put me on there since I can't cuz I know how much you want to show off your cool friend in North Dakota!

I love that the girls are able to go outside at night in December dressed like that. If our kids can freely move their arms and legs while outside at night, they are not dressed appropriately. That parade was cute!! Podunk, perhaps, but def festive! Fun stuff!!

What fun parade! Kaitlin has been begging me to find a Christmas parade. I don't think we have one.
