Time travel, part 1: Christmas at our home

Merry Belated Christmas everyone! I am finally getting around to blogging all of our Christmas adventures. I have been so busy since getting home-unpacking, doing tons of laundry, and cleaning up the millions of things that have somehow found their place in our home. December was rough on the house. December was rough on me too! :) With all of us taking turns with different illnesses(lets see: colds, viruses, conjunctivitis, ear infections, nose bleeds, high fevers(up to 104!), you name it, we probably had it) and trying to finish Christmas shopping, the house went to crap! So, I am now having loads of fun getting this place back into shape. Normal life begins again....

We decided to celebrate Christmas a couple of days early this year with the kids, since we were traveling to Corpus on Christmas Eve. We thought it would be easier this way, the kids would get to celebrate Christmas twice(which they LOVED), and this way we could have our own little Christmas in our own home, which is important to us. First, I would like to show our Christmas Eve sugar cookies we made(from scratch actually-I know, an unbelievable first for me!). We ate some and saved the rest for Santa. He ate them all up and the kids were so excited to find a thank you note from the big guy on our Christmas morning. From top-left clockwise:Joey's plate, Holly's, Ella's, Aubrey's. Nice job everybody!

Here are the pictures from our Christmas morning at our home. The kids made out like bandits! The items that were at the top of their list this year were Webkinz. Those are the latest craze among kids these days. They have totally crushed the Ty beanie baby market. They come with a code where you can actually name them, adopt them, and play with them online. Whoever thought of this is a genius(and a filthy rich genius at that). Aubrey's other faves were this really cool dog that you program to say your name and its own name(that you pick out). It also grows for the first 4 days you have it! It amazes me too. She also was excited to get Girl Crush(this thing that color streaks your hair) and a baby doll that can actually swim. Ella's favorite was a "real" vacuum cleaner along with a Mermaid Dora and a Doodle pony. The little surprise this year was a new fish. The kids have been petless for a while and were asking for a fish(and a fish- I can do, especially a beta!) Nothing says low maintenance like a beta fish. They were really surprised to see "Dasher" swimming around in a little bowl when they came downstairs. Cali got a Baby's first Christmas ornament, some warm clothes, and a fun barnyard animal toy. She enjoyed her first Christmas despite having the sniffles. And of course, they got lots of other cool stuff. I guess they were good:) All in all, it was a perfect Christmas morning! Thanks Santa! We love you!

You've never seen a kid so excited to vacuum! I wish I shared that same excitement for vacuuming, but alas, I do not.

Sneaky baby

The webkinz decided to go for a ride on Aubrey's new Grows and Knows Your Name Dog. Thats one tough pup.

I love the pictures of their reactions to their toys! And isn't it funny how kids love toys like a vacuum? My kids are the same way and it cracks me up! I love the pics of the kiddos with their toys. Those cookies look delicious :)
