Moms are treasures

Me, my mom, my sis & the lil gals- June 2007 Today being Mother's Day, I've spent some time reflecting on my childhood and the amazing mother I have been blessed with. Growing up, we had so much fun together and laughed so much. We must have played a million board games and put together a million puzzles:) And I don't think you could count the number of songs we danced too. We loved turning on music and just dancing in the living room. She is a young fun mom(and grandma too!) She is a mother who created a spirit in our home, a spirit that I remember so well. I remember riding the bus home from school each day eager to open our front door and just feel that feeling that was there. The house was always so clean and fresh and there was often times cookies on a plate:) My mom is beautiful inside and out, has a gentleness to her like no other, and is someone I look up to more than anyone I know. Anyone that has met her knows that she is just a really special person. She has a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ that is unwavering. She has taught me so much and I can't thank her enough for all she has done for me. I hope I can be close to what she is someday. I love you, Mom!
Grandma Adams, me, my mom & the kids -May 2007
I also want to wish my Grandma Adams a Happy Mother's Day. She is also one special lady. She raised 11 children(I can't even imagine that!) She has many of the qualities my mother has, the same sweetness and gentleness, and the same strong testimony of the gospel. One thing I really love about my Grandma is her laugh. I have always appreciated the love she has shown me as an individual in her family. Even though she has many many grandchildren, I have always known she loves me as she has made special efforts to come to things I have been a part of. She also makes sure each member of the entire Adams clan receives a gift from her and Grandpa for Christmas(I think she has over one hundred to shop for!) She is also a wonderful great grandmother to my children. They love her dearly.
Cali & her Nana Christmas 2007

I also would like to say Happy Mother's Day to my mother-in-law, Cyndi. She has always made me feel a part of the family. She never lets my birthday or a Mother's Day pass without a gift from her in the mail with sweet cards/notes expressing to me her love for me. She always lets me know what a great job she thinks I'm doing raising her granddaughters and her words mean the world to me. She also has a special place in my heart as the mother of my eternal companion, Joey. She is a wonderful mother to him. When he speaks of his mother, it is always with extraordinary love and respect to her. There was a time when Joey was seriously burned as a child and he spent weeks in the hospital. She was right by his side the entire time. He has told me how they played games and games of Uno together and imagining that scene has brought tears to my eyes. She didn't leave her little boys side. The year following his burn, she made sure he stayed out of the sun, wore hats, sunscreen, etc. She took care of him so well, that the lack of scarring is a miracle. She would do anything for her children and grandchildren. She is a very selfless and amazing person. She is also a wonderful Nana to our girls!

So, Happy Mother's Day to all women reading this post! Whether you are a mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, daughter, this is a day to celebrate us all! Women possess the qualities of nurturing and caring and dang, we do it well! :) The world wouldn't be the same without us. Enjoy your day ladies!

Dear Holly,
What a wonderful tribute you made to your mom, grandmom and mother-in-law. They sound like amazing women....a lot like you. I'm glad that you appreciate them and what they have done and are doing for you and your family. Aren't we lucky to know that families are eternal. I think heaven would be a sad place if we couldn't be together as families.

Thanks for your nice comment on my blog. I'm glad that you had a special Mother's Day too.
