Props to Tops in Ops

We're back! I have to say that we just experienced one of the coolest trips EVER! It was amazing. I feel like we just got back from a second honeymoon! T-Mobile exceeded our expectations and really made this a trip to remember. A rundown of activities(warning, this may be lengthy). . .

Thursday: We arrived at Mandarin Oriental Hotel Miami(Jennifer Aniston was staying there at the same time!) for check in. Fabulous hotel with amazing views of Miami. T-Mobile welcomed us with gifts & candy. That night was a dinner party on the hotel's private beach. Great food, free stuff, music, free chair massages, pictures taken, chatting, etc. Went back to our room where chocolate covered strawberries were waiting. Also a Cubavera shirt for Joey and a Pashmina wrap/shawl for me. Every night we came to our room there were gifts/candy waiting(it was like Christmas every night!)

Friday: Breakfast buffet at hotel(sooo good). Then off to Doral Golf Resort-a dream come true for Joey. It was lots of fun. I golfed a few holes, half the time I sucked, but the other half of the time I wasn't too bad. Joey did awesome. Then we got home, showered, and got all primped for the awards ceremony and dinner at Villa Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. We had no idea what that place was and was absolutely amazed at how beautiful it was when we arrived. We were expecting just a museum. This was soooo much more. Click here to read more about this place. It was one of the coolest places I've ever been. So elegant. Joey received his award that night along with a new video camera! The dinner was one of the best I've ever tasted and the tent/decor was just so elegant and gorgeous I couldn't believe I was there. A night to remember forever. Also, when we came to our room that night, a tripod for the camera(in the box-not set up by the bed people) was waiting in our room. T-Mobile rocks!

Saturday: This was our relaxing-on-the-beach and massage day. I loved laying on the beach with my Joey and talking and relaxing together. It was much needed husband-wife time. And the massage-WOW. Thats all I can say. I felt like a star at Mandarin's Spa. Getting a two hundred dollar massage for free, doesn't get any better than that. It was such a great day to just chill out and have no worries. It was also the day we walked right by Jennifer Aniston at the pool and didn't even know it! Man!!! That night we boarded the Aqua Lounge luxury yacht which took us through Biscayne Bay and back while we had dinner and danced the night away. We felt so young that night. Of course people were drinking, but we didn't need alcohol to get crazy! :) See slideshow pic of one hairy dude that did get a little(okay, a lot) crazy. People are so stupid when they drink. Hence, why people shouldn't drink! Anyways, our Sprite was all we needed to have fun. We also hit South Beach that night(I had never been) to check out the place and look for movie stars. The only person I saw was someone that looked like that Omarosa chick from The Apprentice. So, not really a "star" but a "reality star" at least:) That night there was a really cool box of chocolates on our bed. One of the chocolates actually had T-Mobiles "T" :) Wow, these T-Mobile people thought of it all!

Sunday: After breakfast, we flew home. I have to say that this Miami trip was one of the best trips ever, but even with all of the excitement and fun, we couldn't wait to see our girls again. Joey and I talked about them, thought about them, and missed them! Reuniting with them was so sweet. They were so happy. I was wondering how Cali would react when she saw me again(it was my first time to leave her). She just smiled with her eyes so big and reached for me and wouldn't let go of me for a long time:) She was so excited when she saw us. There really is no place like home and no place like the arms of your little ones. I love these vacations we take every 3 years or so- just Joey and I(couples need them!), but I love it when we come home and see our precious girls again. I'm so grateful for this trip, for the time we had just the two of us, and so grateful everyone was safe. We feel so blessed to have been able to go on a trip like this. I also have to say thanks again to Joey's parents for taking such good care of the kids. They had a great time with you and miss you already! And thanks also to T-Mobile giving us such a fabulous vacation. Thanks to those that nominated Joey for the Tops in Ops award and made this possible. And most of all thanks to Joey for working so hard and winning this award! I love you! Everything was absolutely wonderful!

Here is a slideshow of some of the pictures we took-enjoy!

What a wonderful trip you had. I am happy for you both. I read all about it while I was drooling. I can't believe all the nice gifts that T-mobile had for you each night. If we hadn't just retired I'd try to get John to work for them....ha...

Welcome home. I know that you will always treasure the memories of this trip in your heart.

For some reason your slide show wasn't working on my computer yesterday but it was today. What a great trip!!!! Now I wish more than ever that we'd worked for T-Mobile. The school districts we worked for thought they were being generous to teachers when they'd give us a new ball point pen.

Thanks for the nice comments you always leave on my blog. It is so nice of you to take the time to read the blog of this old grammy. It means a lot to me.

Have a good day...and get your pictures put in an album or scrapbook ASAP. I've learned from experience to do it as soon as I get home or the pictures may sit in a box for years...it has happened more than once.

Okay, I could so use a trip like that. Everyone needs a to get away from it all once in a while. And second honeymoons are a lot more fun than first ones. You actually know what to do. Ü
