A broken refrigerator, a studly fix it man, and a girl who has found a new stylish headband

So, Sunday night I opened the freezer to find everything inside mushy and everything soaking wet. Our freezer(and then we later found out our refrigerator compartment) was broken. Being the handyman Joey is, he decided to try and fix it himself. Monday night and Tuesday night were spent working on it. He has never worked on a refrigerator before, but with the help of his Dad on the cell phone and the internet, he fixed it last night! What a studly man he is. He found the problem, purchased the part, and then replaced it successfully. Good job Joey! You saved us mega bucks with your big muscles:) I am so happy to have our refrigerator/freezer back! Living without it for the past day and a half or so was the pits. It definitely made me more grateful for it-sometimes you take things for granted and you don't realize what a wonderful blessing it is until its gone. Thanks to the Petersons and the Orrs for letting our stuff occupy your extra freezers/refrigerators in your garages. You saved our booties! I am so glad we got this fixed before our upcoming trip and I am also so glad this didn't happen while we were out of town. That would've been a nice little welcome package to come home to....

While Joey was working on the fridge, a little girl found one of his tools and had a blast. Check her out. She is a riot, isn't she?

Good job Joey just like your dad. I'm proud of you and the great positive way to fix it all. Daddy is very proud of you as well and think of all the $$$ you saved and all that you learned. Good for you. Ella you are one cute assistant.

What a doll your Ella is.... and good for your most clever hubby.

I agree with you, it would have been terrible if it had broken when you were on your trip. I guess if you can call a broken refrig/freezer a blessing this would be the time. At least think how nice it is to have your freezer all cleaned out. I'm afraid to tackle mine...it is 3 years old and I'm sure there are things in it that are at least that old...maybe older because I took them out of the old freezer when I bought the new one. Oh dear...I've just added another job to my need to do list.

Thanks once again for your wonderful comment on my blog. I plan to write your Sil and let her know I am thinking of her.

Ooooooo-- broken anything is such bad news in my house. I am so glad for handy husbands! Jeff fixed our ice maker last year-- and it's so amazing what we do take for granted: refrigerators included. Glad it happened now and not when you were on your trip. Imagine coming home to a house full of stinky food reek.

I am very impressed. I wouldn't think of fixing a fridge myself.

Glad your fridge is fixed. It is nice to have a handy husband. I'm so glad Jared learned a lot from his dad and can fix a lot of things around the house.

Way to go Joey! Our water dispenser broke in our fridge and it sat broken for ohhh.... about 3 months, Dave wouldn't even try. I didn't want to pay mega bucks to have someone fix it! Then suddenly it started working one day, I was so glad. Joey is the man!

Hey, I thought I left a comment earlier. Hmmm, I think it disappeared. Anyhow, what I meant to say was how darn cute Ella bean is. And how awesome is it that Joey was able to fix it before the trip home. Yay!

All right, I guess I have to join the bandwagon, but am not competing. I know when I have no chance! I fixed the link to your site! Yay!!! And just want to say how fun it is reading your blog and seeing your adorable family(even if I don't post much)!

Yea Joey! It's great to be resourceful and take the time to do things yourself first before calling in people that you are going to have to pay megabucks to. Looks like those Home Depot workshops are paying off. :)
