The Circus!

My sis in law, Christine(who used to be a clown for Ringling), got us the hookup with some free tickets to The Greatest Show on Earth: Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus last night! We were only a couple of rows up from the action and had an awesome view of the show. The girls LOVED every minute of it, especially Ella who would just spontaneously scream out of joy every 5 minutes:) When we lived in Corpus, we went every year, but it had been a couple of years since we'd been. It was like a whole new world for Ella who was just two when we went last. Aubrey watched everything with big eyes and Cali clapped and pointed constantly. We realized when we were there that it was actually Cali's first time to see the circus. We had the best time Cris-thank you to you and your friend Ruthie for getting us such sweet tickets!

Joey and his little girls before the show

The clowns clownin around

Watching and wondering what will come out next

I love this profile shot of Cali. I wonder what her little mind was thinking.

The tigers were beautiful and very growly. I was praying none of them would turn on their master during the show.

Me and Aubrey smile for a picture

Cali watching the elephants while holding her elephant
An elephant doing a trick. I love elephants-they are so cute!

To keep with the elephant theme, here is Aubrey drinking her elephant sno cone. Ella picked out a pony while Aubrey chose the elephant. We got Cali some cotton candy and a hat.

Here is the star of the show, Bello, the head clown. Ella loved this guy and said afterwards, "You know that guy with the sticking-out hair do, he was funny!"
Bello ran around the outside of the ring throwing these Bello hair do hats. Joey actually caught one! We were all thrilled. We are never one of those families that catches something in the audience. Heres Cali sportin the Bello "do."

Joey and Ella in funny circus hatsThe kids all fell asleep in the car so when we got home we had to wake up the older two to come inside the house. Well, as soon as we got home, Ella layed down on the hardwood floor and fell back asleep:) Too funny not to take a picture of! Definitely a sign of a good time!

Aubrey was so sweet and had drawn this on her magna doodle for when we got home. You're welcome, Aubrey!

Looks like so much fun...Glad that you shared with us. It has been years since we've gone to a circus.

I didn't know Christine had been a clown....now I understand why she calls Olive Lucy her clown baby.

OHh, it does look like you had a marvelous time! One of my favourite childhood memories is of my dad taking me to the circus when I was about 5 years old. I remember he bought me a box of pink candy popcorn and a pink and blue plastic fan. It was a magical experience and it is a wonderfully special memory for me, as it was the only time in my life I have ever been to the circus.

I have never been to the circus. Yes, I am a loser. I really want to take my kids to the circus. Someday. You have yet again inspired my life. Your girls are perfect. One with a pre-written thank you note and the other asleep on the floor...seriously, they don't come more perfect.
