Halloween 2008

We had a great Halloween this year! We did have one setback though and that was that Ella became sick. She had been sick with a low-grade temp, congestion and sore throat earlier in the week, and then her fever broke and she was fine for about two days straight. I kept her home for two days with no contact with anyone when she was under the weather. But then the night before Halloween, she started running a high fever with no other symptoms. Poor thing had to miss her preschool Halloween party she had been looking sooooooooo forward to that day:( I promised her that she could go trick or treating and I made good on that promise and spread the germs.... I mean, love, all over the neighborhood:) Actually though, half-way through the day she was feeling fine. No fever, so I don't feel too bad about sending her around the neighborhood that night. And today she is fine too. Weird. So, anyways, we still had a great time. I just made sure Ella didn't get close to other kids!
During the day I made these plates of goodies for friends. Thanks Tib for the idea, so easy and so yum! I also like that she also calls them Zebra nipples. He he. The kids made some today with regular kisses(from Halloween loot) and they named them Gorilla nipples. I was so proud.

And we all made these for dinner along with some yummy soup. Hot dog mummies-the kids loved em! Definitely a new tradition.

Then it was time to get all primped up and ready to roll!

Ta-Da! Here is the beautiful Dorothy Gale. Is this not the cutest Dorothy ever? I purchased Aubrey's costume online from Kelly's Costumes. Check out her site! Her family hand sews all of their items and they are just gorgeous!
Here is the lovely Glinda the Good Witch. Ella loved her dress and especially the sparkly wand. She told us she also wanted to turn her friend Dax into a frog with it. She thought that would be really funny. So, watch out Dax! :)

Here is our adorable little witch, Cali. She wouldn't cooperate for many pictures this year:) This was her, "Do not take my picture." picture.

Here they are after an hour of trick or treating around the neighborhood. They scored! Oh, how we love this holiday. Candy, candy, candy!
Now we have our one year supply of Candy Storage in order! Such good Mormons we are. . .:)

Oh, they are cute!! I hear you on the sickness thing -- Miss Maya has had a yukky cold, cough and congestion and she made it through the trunk or treat at the church, and then came home to go out in the neighborhood with her Daddy. But she only lasted 1 house, came home for a bath, threw up, and went to bed. Poor kiddo. And she's OK now too.

Love the costumes.

It was so nice to be able to see the girls all dressed up for Halloween. I'm started back up on sewing inspired by their costumes. The candy eyeballs I call them were delicious for sure. I went today to get the ingredients to try it out myself. I know I may be prejudice but the girls were seriously the cutest out there trick or treating just a perfect group of cute kids. Fun for all. Only one negative I couldn't convince Aubrey and Ella and Cali to let me take them home with me so I can have real live Wizard of Oz casts in my home. Darn!! For those of you who don't know I love Love LOVE the Wizard of Oz Movie and memorabilia. It's been a while since we have seen them in person all dressed up trick or treating it was so much fun. The candy was an additional treat.
