Obama reverses Bush-Abortion Funds Policy.

Ooooh, I'm mad. I'm not surprised, but I'm mad. I don't blog very much politics-wise, but this is something that has struck a nerve with me. Obama has only been in office for 4 days and he is already doing so much damage. And most of it is behind closed doors. I can only imagine what 4 more years will bring.

Here are excerpts from an article I read this morning. My comments are italicized.

"President Barack Obama on Friday struck down the Bush administration's ban on giving federal money to international groups that perform abortions or provide abortion information — an inflammatory policy that has bounced in and out of law for the past quarter-century. (This makes me SICK! OUR money is going to INTERNATIONAL groups to perform abortions. This is sooo wrong.) The ban has been a political football between Democratic and Republican administrations since GOP President Ronald Reagan first adopted it in 1984. Democrat Bill Clinton ended the ban in 1993, but Republican George W. Bush re-instituted it in 2001 as one of his first acts in office."(Hmmm, seems to me this is good vs. evil over and over again, back and forth.)

"Obama issued the presidential memorandum rescinding the Bush policy without coverage by the media, late Friday afternoon. The abortion measure is a highly emotional one for many people, and the quiet signing was in contrast to the televised coverage of Obama's announcement Wednesday on ethics rules and Thursday's signing of orders on closing the Guantanamo Bay prison camp and banning torture in the questioning of terror suspects."(How interesting that there was no media coverage during the signing and that this wasn't televised! A wolf in sheeps clothing. . .)

I believe Obama is a snake. I can't believe people bought into his lies and his whole "I'm gonna change the world" approach. Obama became the "cool" celebrity and everyone jumped on the bandwagon of change and popularity. Everyone thinks Bush screwed things up(which in fact he didn't, read this). And since Bush was a Republican, we needed to oust the Republicans all together and throw in a Democrat(Yeah, that will fix everything!)

I sadly believe our country is headed in the wrong direction. This is the first of many morally wrong choices Obama will make. If you don't agree, have you not read about the Freedom of Choice act that he has promised to sign into law? Its even worse. Heres the gist of it-

"The Freedom of Choice Act will allow all types of abortions including partial birth abortions, also allowing babies who are born alive due to botched up late term abortions, to be set aside without any medical care or nourishment and left to die (most of these babies have no medical problems and most of the ones that do, have things like cleft palates, club feet, things that are correctable, still they are murdered in the most cruel and inhuman way. They feel everything that is happening to them. There is more mercy for dogs that are put to sleep) This Bill also will make it mandatory for doctors and nurses to perform this murderous act even if they do not want to do so. This act also allows under age teens to have an abortion, even partial birth abortions, without parental consent." There are Catholic hospitals that will actually close down if this act becomes law. Christians everywhere should be absolutely appalled by this.

I am sick. These are definitely signs of the times.

I'm done with my rant now.

I honestly get sick every time I see this man. Scary. very scary, I can't believe all the people who love this man, yes, even MOrmons.

Satan is at his full force, and I will not be never be on his side.

sadly, I think sooo many of American's actually support his policies and think the same way. So much of the majority has lost a moral compass. I really hope the Freedom of Choice doesnt' go through and that there will be many who speak out and let it be known that we won't have it!

I'm so sick about this I did not know this was signed on Friday. My stomach turns horribly at this moment. I'm so sorry these babies will never know the life here I can only pray for protection for our families this whole thing makes me sick. Thanks for having the courage to post about this decision. One thing I can say with all honesty I can stand before my Savior and say I made a right choice, the deaths of those innocent children will be upon the heads of these leaders at this time.

Love ya Holly. This was excellent. Thanks for standing up. I love the meridan link. I am reading that one tomorrow. Looks fantastic.

Oh Holly, this sickens me so very much. It is what I was afraid of. I had hoped that Obama would not be as bad as I was fearful of, but it appears he may even be worse. I know I am not an American, but I am not so naieve as to believe that American politics do not affect me. American politics impact the world. This is the most powerful man on earth today and look at the direction he is taking . . . we all need to pray even harder. Look what happened to Soddom and Gommorra, this is so much worse . . . God help us.

makes me sad for all those precious babies and for the people who make the choice to take that childs life and for all the people in the world who desperately want a child but can't have them and must stand by and watch these things in the world.

Things are really getting bad! I too was hoping he might not be so bad but it looks like that won't be the case. Obama has fooled a lot of people because he is handsome and charismatic. To me he is a "Wolf in sheep's clothing"!! Definitely the last days!!

Yes, most abortions have nothing to do with life of the mother or medical problems of the fetus. They are carried out for the convenience of irresponsible individuals (I cannot refer to these as parents). They then compound their mistakes with a cruel act against a completely innocent baby. Personally I think anyone who would raise their hand against a pure, sinless infant in effect raises their hand against Christ- there being none on the earth closer to Christ than these little angels. It's worse than murder, it's disgusting. I do agree with the church's stance that in certain cases (not for convenience sake) where there are tough choices (health of the mother, fetus viability, rape or incest) then it becomes a decision between you and God. Clearly, most abortions do not fall under that process. OK that's it - touched a nerve.

Hi Holly. I just stopped by to check out your blog. As I read these comments so filled with anger and hate, I feel that I should reply. As an adoptive mother, I certainly do not wish anyone to abort their child, but I don't agree with the anger that the other posters have. The Jesus I know would lift Obama and other leaders, people, mothers, scared/desperate young girls, families, poor people, confused people, hurt people, up in prayer and love. The Jesus I know is one of inclusion, non-judgement, and love.

My prayers to you and all your hearts....

Thanks for your comment Jenna. I want to clarify that myself and most of the other commenters hate the choices Obama is making as our President, not Obama himself. My post was a post of anger and sadness, not of hate. Anger that Obama would sign such a horrible thing into law and sadness for these poor babies. I think you are an amazing mother Jenna-adoption is just awesome and those two little boys are so blessed to have you. I’m glad that you also feel abortion is wrong. I agree with you that God is a God of love and I agree that adoption is a wonderful option. I do, however, disagree that He is a God that doesn’t judge. He will judge us all someday and he expects us to judge between right and wrong while we are in this life. So, I do place judgement, every day of my life. Not on other people(I’m not claiming to be perfect, I think we all pass judgement sometimes when we shouldn’t), but on principles, words, ideas, and actions. I see the things Obama is doing and I do not agree with them. I feel as an American, I have the right to express that disagreement, whether it is in words or writing. I can’t sit in silence because by silence we can also sin. We are supposed to stand up for what we believe in. If someone disagrees with what someone else believes, that is their right. That’s the beauty of this great nation-freedom. I didn’t mean for my post to be full of “hate” as you said and I don’t think the other commenters are “haters” but angry with the choices of the leader of this country. I think we should be angry about some things in this life. There is a lot of evil out there. If the good people aren’t angry about it and don’t put up a fight, then evil will prevail. We can’t just sit and watch it all happen. I think other will people agree when I say that I do have hope for the President and that he will change some of his ways. I pray he will make better moral choices than he has already made so that our nation can remain blessed and free.

"ali" or whoever you are, this IS black and white. it is about abortion. bottom line. anyone that says different has been very misled. i can't stand it when people speak of the mothers as if they are the real victims here. while you spouted off a bunch of statistics that you probably copied and pasted off the internet, not once did you mention these poor defenseless babies that are being ripped to pieces in the most inhumane way. planned parenthood and other organizations have programmed people to focus on the woman and her "choice" instead of the real victims. yeah, lets use poverty, family assistance, etc., to justify this law. lets forget about what the REAL ISSUE at hand is and talk about other things that we are doing right to make ourselves feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

and i don't care if you are rich or poor, black or white, american or african, we all know where babies come from. if women don't want to have children, they need to stop having sex. sex=baby. there is something called choice and accountability. and an "oops" doesn't justify murder. i understand there are instances where rape/incest is involved, but i know and everyone else knows that most abortions are done out of "convenience." and i NEVER want my money supporting such a thing. EVER. i find it interesting that you speak of reaching out and taking care of those not as fortunate as ourselves...well, i think the ones the most unfortunate in these circumstances are these babies that will never have a chance to live. it seems that you, as a mother, would understand that.

if you aren't a proponent of abortion then why are you wasting your time today fighting for it on a complete strangers personal blog? seems like a waste of time to me.

and you are asking me to stay civil? you are the one that has come MY blog and attacked values that are important to me. my comment back was very civil. i presented my opinion in the same tone that you presented yours to me. bottom line is my money shouldn't be going to support something i feel is morally wrong. thats whats wrong here. thats the socialist way-government control of everything.

i have read many posts on many peoples blogs that i don't necessarily agree with but i just MOVE ON. like you should do. lets just agree to disagree.

i do not have a problem with disagreements expressed on my blog. i know when i discuss politics(maybe twice a year if that) people have very different opinions and they will express them. it became a problem to me when you said i was being uncivil and when you asked "do you get that?" as if i'm stupid and uninformed. and no, "i don't get that." of course there is going to be more abortions if other countries have more money to perform them. if its easier for the woman to get an abortion, she is more likely to get it done. if this money was to be used for the education and healthcare of these women only, then fine, i don't have a problem with that. i actually do donate money to other countries for them to get the help they need with food/shelter/education/ etc. our family definitely believes in charity. but this is for something completely different. its actually going to be used for the actual procedures of abortion as well as the other stuff that makes it "sound good". i just cannot accept that!

anyways, thanks for coming to my blog. i don't want hard feelings here, but maybe you could start off by commenting on some of the "silly" family stuff before fighting me right off the bat. it didn't make for a great first impersonation for either of us i'm sure;)

These leftist are a real hoot. As soon as you disagree they charge you with being uncivil. Of course you were being extremely civil considering the dishonesty and the condescending tone Ms. Ali demonstrated. Saving lives is what she is all about... right. Funny she didn't mention the billions of dollars Bush sent to Africa in the effort to fight AIDs did she? And the efforts against Malaria? And she says family planning is the ONLY way to save lives? We know “Family planning" is nothing more than code for abortion. Ooops we weren't supposed to "get that" were we? Civil? Why extend such a courtesy to such pompous piranha bent on destroying not only the American way of life but the most innocent of us all. Despicable nasty, creatures. There, I think that was fairly civil of course you would have to know me to put it in perspective.

Wow, I missed all of the good stuff, Holly! Where have I been all day long??? I heard someone was talking smack, so I was coming to your rescue, but I see I am not needed afterall. After reading all of your comments, I'm so proud to call you my sister. What a way to stand up for what you believe in and well said. Amen! And about my previous comment (I think your friend Jenna thought I was being hateful and needed forgiveness), I didn't mean what I said the way a stranger would have read it. The comment was to Holly, my sister, and we understand eachother like that. She knows I don't HATE him, I just kinda hate him. lol

I LOVE YOU HOLLY! Thank you for posting this & standing up to "ALI". (Guess it was your turn this time!!) Not a black & white issue my foot! The only people who say it's not a black & white issue are liberal leftists who are word playing.
There is no such thing as over populating so don't attempt to go there. And like RD said "most abortions have nothing to do with life of the mother or medical problems of the fetus." It is one more way out of the consequence of their actions. AND with BIRTH CONTROL so fricking easy & cheap there is NO REASON for this crap! I can not believe that I live in such a selfish country that would allow the murder of innocent life and make it legal!

hoLLy said...

and just so everyone knows, there were comments removed by ali in between mine. i just don't want it to look like i was going on and on alone! :) we had some back and forths and she chose to remove some of hers.

Ali said...

I am offended that you put these messages up again. I was glad to see you had removed all comments as I didn't like where it was going. I was trying to remove myself from this post because clearly you do not understand my position and are convinced that my statistics are dishonest. I am offended that you and your friends think you know me and can label me as such. For your information, I voted for Bush back in 2001. So maybe you'll should stop jumping to conclusions and calling me a liberal leftist. You don't know me at all. But I think it's sad that you think in black and white and have someone calling Obama the antichrist. That's a pretty strong statement and I hope you can back that up. And for the love of humanity, BIRTH CONTROL IS NOT EASY AND CHEAP IN THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES AND THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT THE US AID IS GOING FOR.

hoLLy said...

hey ali, i am not trying to offend you by putting the comments back up(i didn't "undo" your deletions). i removed the comment option for a day...and then i thought, why should i change my blog and take down stuff to please the people that don't agree with me? so, i put the comment option back up as to not silence those who would like to say something on the issue(in a respectful way). its my blog. i can do whatever i want with it and its actually nobodys business but my own. if you didn't want your comments here, then you shouldn't have left them to begin with. and for the record, i'm absolutely not a name caller. i didn't call obama the anti-Christ and i didn't call you a liberal leftist(those were by other commenters). i never used the word hate. so i don't think you have anything to be mad at me about. i was a considerate debater. we both presented our side of the argument. then we were done. the end.

hoLLy said...

and oh yeah, a good way to "remove yourself from this post" would be to stop coming back to it.

Let me start off by saying that you deleted my post Holly. It was a sarcastic post, sure, but it was meant to illustrate a point.

Now I want to ask you a serious question (something that should have been going on in this thread a long time ago).

Are you so used to persecution of your beliefs that you feel you need to treat even slightly differing viewpoints as threats?

I just don't see where the presentation of a different idea backed up by statistics justifies many of the things that were said about Ali (looking at you RD).

I see that this is an emotional topic for you and going off half cocked is what a blog is all about, but the angry mob thing does not present itself well to an actual exchange of information.

Maybe Ali and I just walked into the wrong pep rally.

Ali said...

Yes, all your other readers are so respectful with their language and opinions. Puleeze. Don't worry, you and your pals can be happy. I won't be back. This post makes me sick.

hoLLy said...

ali, i don't think you should judge me be based on the other commenters. they aren't my "gang" or mob! they are simply readers of my blog.

and michael, honestly, i accidentally deleted your post. i went to delete the post after yours, which was a friend of yours i believe(because i just thought his comment was a little disturbing), and i accidentally deleted yours instead. seriously, my bad. you're welcome at this "pep rally." and your question about threats-i didn't treat ali's comments as threats. i responded to them and i defended myself. thats it. the "angry mob" were just other readers that happened upon this post and agreed with me. its not like i called a bunch of my best friends and told them to come to my blog to back me up! and you referred to the "things said about ali" that you don't think were justified-i didn't say those things. again, readers of the blog did. lots of people comment from all over the place and speak their minds. just like you guys did. i don't see whats sick about that.
