Fairies at our house!

Ever since Aubrey lost her first tooth, she has been ever inquisitive about fairies. What do they look like? I wonder what my tooth fairies name is? How big are they? How old are they? The questions have been endless. She decided after she lost her first tooth to write her tooth fairy a note, asking these very questions. And what do you know, the tooth fairy wrote her back! Aubrey was so excited-she talked about it for days and days! I think Santa Clause knew of her love of fairies because he brought her her very own Fairy Catching Kit. It came with a book all about fairies, special pixie dust(that is supposed to attract fairies) and a little fairy "house" to try and catch fairies in. Aubrey was sooooo excited to receive this! She read the Fairy Field Guide and then set up a fairy "trap." If you look closely, you can see her little hand-written, "This way fairies" sign and her trail of pixie dust leading to the cage, or "house." She also put a little piece of food inside the house(a cheerio).

Here is the other little note she wrote for the fairies...Look at how she scratched out the word cage and replaced it with the word house:) When she first read it to me, I said, "You might want to change the word cage. If I was a fairy, I wouldn't want to wait in a cage." She looked at me as if to understand what I meant and then scratched out the word cage and wrote the word "house"and smiled like, "That'll trick em." She is one clever gal.
Well, we have yet to catch any fairies at our house, but we know they are here! There have been many disappearing Cheerios and trails of fairy footprints:) I'm sure one of these days Aubrey will catch one. . .and when she does, you'll be the first to know!

Okay, this was just so funny the first time you told me about this. Definitely something Aubrey will love to hear about when she's older. She's so cute! :)

Hmm, that sounded kinda like I was saying that this wasn't funny this time around, lol, that's not how I meant that. It's still freakin' hilarious! And hey, I was the first commenter today, yay!!!

Just be sure and tell Aubrey, so that she doesn't get disappointed, that fairies can disapparate (sp?) and apparate at will, so that cage- I mean, house- probably wont hold them. They're very mischievous and don't like to be still for very long. But man, I would sure like to have myself a fairy catching kit! She's so lucky. ;)

Didn't you tell me that they fairies left a note saying they were so small that they couldn't be seen by the human eye? If so, I think the holes in the "house" are too big and that's probably how they're escaping.

I love it. I'm so grateful for a granddaughter is very thoughtful to want to share in the life of the fairies they are most definitely magical. I don't know where my backyard of beauty would be if not for the fairies that take care of it when I am lazy. Keep us posted.

I've met a few fairies in my lifetime. I suggest starting in the Oak Lawn area of Dallas.
