Aubrey's Open House

A few nights ago was Aubrey's school Open House. We all went and enjoyed getting a tour of her classroom. She loved showing us around. The first thing she wanted to show us was the Smart Board. We hear about the Smart Board almost every day-she LOVES it. Its basically a big touch screen/computer on the wall that is used in teaching. It has pens that "write" on it too. I have to agree, it is pretty cool! We never had anything like that when I was a kid. I feel old:)
I also made sure to get a picture of Aubrey with the BEST teacher EVER, Mrs. Gahan. This woman is an incredible teacher! Not only is she talented, knowledgeable and experienced, she is just so sweet and loving. I had been told by other parents that this teacher was the best at the school, so I prayed and prayed Aubrey would get her. Seriously, when I found out Aubrey got her, I almost cried(Is that silly? I just really felt like my prayers were answered!) And everything everyone told me was true-she is so so good. Words can't describe her! One thing I also love about her is that she loves Aubrey and really seems to know her. Thats something you worry about when you send your kids off to school, will their teachers realize how special they are? She definitely has! She told me one day with greatest sincerity(Yes, I'm bragging, oh well:), "Do you realize what an amazing daughter you have? I'm sure you know that already, but wow. Aubrey is just wonderful. She is such a good example to the other kids. They look up to her and follow her. She is so smart and responsible. She is thoughtful and sweet. You should be so proud of her and you should really be proud of yourselves as parents. Aubrey is just amazing." When she told me that, it really meant a lot to me, especially coming from her. It was a proud moment for me:) And I definitely couldn't agree with her more. We love you Aubrey and are very proud of you!
Here is Aubrey showing us one of the "stations" in her class. Joey is putting a shell up to Ella's ear, in case you were wondering:)

Here is one last picture of Aubrey standing in front of her liberty bell project that was in the hallway. Great job Aubrey! I loved seeing all of her projects and work-you can tell she works really hard at school and is very meticulous. Aubrey is a hard worker and has such a bright future. I am so proud of her. Thanks Aubrey for showing us around your classroom! We all really had fun seeing everything you do! You were a great tour guide:)

I remember playing Oregon Trail in computer lab once a week and thinking it was state of the art technology as members of our team would die from Cholera.

We all know what a special little girl Aubrey is but it is nice to hear that her teacher agrees. I love you Aubrey Ann! You are a wonderful example to everyone around you and they will be curious to why you are such a good girl. That is one way of being a missionary and you are only "7". Good Job!!

Love,
Grandma
