Miss Ella

Ella is at one of the cutest ages, the tender age of 5. Not quite a "big kid" in "big school" but almost there and just about to finish off her preschool year. I just can't believe it! I finished registering her for Kindergarten today and she is set and ready to go(I just don't think I'm ready to send another one off to Kindergarten just yet! Sniff sniff.). I know she is totally ready though. She already reads extremely well for her age and is just a great kid, easy to get along with, sweet, funny, cute and a kid with pizzazz:) She is also so strikingly beautiful and I love those beautiful curls. She can be pretty shy sometimes, but once she gets to know someone she is so fun and friendly. She is also a very silly kid who loves to bust a move, much like her Mama. I love how she says certain words: magazine is "mazagine" and supposed is "poposed" and rhinoceros "hurahcirus." She makes us laugh everyday! She is also very thoughtful of others and loves to help, whether its helping me with the laundry or helping Cali put on her shoes. She is also very creative and loves to draw, color, and paint. And one of her very very favorite things is tape. Scotch tape to be exact. I thought I'd share some of her latest tape creations with you today. . .for your enjoyment.

Ella's preschool had a Science Fair a couple of weeks ago. The kids could bring in collections of rocks, shells, etc. or simple science experiments. Ella brought in a bag of really cool shells from the beaches of Corpus Christi(shout-out to my hometown!) One of the other kids brought in a poster of the results of a Sink or Float experiment. Well, Ella decided(while I was on the phone one day) to do her own Sink or Float test all by herself. And here are her results. . .
She put a Polly Pocket, a Dora, a pen, a stamp, a mini rc car, a marker and a tag in the water of our sink! Then she divided them up by which ones sank and floated and scotch taped them all to this paper, while they were all dripping wet still:) It was so hilarious, so cute, so Ella! I'm not sure that the marker, the pen, or the rc still work, but oh well. I love seeing her little mind at work:) Her mind has no boundaries! Love it.
Then, the other day, she taped a pencil to this ginormous leaf that Aubrey had found at the zoo. When Aubrey found this leaf, she said, "This leaf could be a pen!" and pretended to write with it in the air-like a feather pen. Well, Ella being the considerate and creative little sister decided to make Aubrey's wish come true. Presenting..... the leaf pencil! Ella surprise her with it today and Aubrey loved it.
We love our little Ella! We can't believe she will start Kindergarten next year and are treasuring these last few months before she enters the big leagues!

This is such a great post. Ella you are amazing. I love your sweet inspirations and all the beautiful creative ways you bring smiles to all our faces. I'm happy that you are going to be a kindergartener but sad that you are growing so fast. I know your new teacher will be so happy to have you in her class and we are excited to see you soon in about a month. Thanks for making Aubrey leaf pen wish come true that's so awesome. We love you all. nana and tata

She sounds like so much fun. I think she has the cutest smile! And for the record, kindergarten sucks...even when you have the most fantastic teacher ever...it's just the whole growing up thing.
