Medieval Tiiiiiiiimes!!

I have always wanted to go to Medieval Times(ever since I saw the move, The Cable Guy, with Jim Carrey), but for one reason or another, we never have. When we moved to Dallas 3 years ago I was thrilled to find out they had one. We kept planning on going, but never made it. Finally this past weekend, we went! Joey bought us tickets for my birthday:) Thanks Joey! It was totally fun(and the kids were free-yea!). Here are pics of our Medieval experience. . .

In front of the castle. . .
Inside there was an area where you could check out the beautiful horses. There were also LOTS of people selling LOTS of stuff. This places pushes souvenirs even harder that Disneyland!
Cali has perfected her smile for the camera. Always scrunches up that nose:)
Saying hello to the armor dude
Ready for dinner and a show. Check out our crowns-go red knight go!
The first course of the meal was tomato bisque and garlic toast. I loved the plates and bowls and utensils, oh wait, there were no utensils. Your hands were your utensils. We were also served chicken, a potato, a rib and an apple turnover. The food was pretty good. Not too shabby for being hundreds of years old.
Here is our dashing red knight-I never got a good picture of him. That dang horse moved around too much. He lost, btw. But the girls loved him and thought he was the "cutest knight." Which, as you all know, IS most important.
There were times when the knights would kiss carnations and then throw them into the audience. Can you believe I caught one? I couldn't. I'm never that lucky! I felt muy especial. On the way home, I had fun with the camera. And if you could see the other half of the car pics, you would just think I am weird(maybe you already do?). So, I'll only post a couple of me, before I started trying to make really crazy faces.
Aubrey said she had a great time and also that it was more fun than she thought it would be. I guess she wasn't expecting much:) Notice her bottle cap necklace(the "cool" thing at school these days). I made it for her.
Cali hammin it up
And Ella plain tuckered out. She actually fell asleep with the crown over her eyes. Then it came apart as you can see in the picture-we were all laughing. And she didn't even know it. . .
If you haven't been to Medieval Times, check it out! But go in knowing that its supposed to be cheesy family fun. And go ready to cheer for your knight and act silly. And go with your kids(make sure to get a coupon first-don't pay for them! This place is expensive!) because they'll really enjoy it! I know I did.

What a fun activity. I wonder if we could get a free kid coupon here?

This post brings back old memories for me. We have not been there for 20 years. The last time we went there our 12 year old son, David, was making a comercial. we spent the day there watching the knights practice while David worked on set. The photo shoot was over before the evening show started...so we went home... I wanted to stay for the dinner and the show but the comercial crew had kept us well feed so John didn't want to pay to stay since we were not hungry.

I think your Joey was very thoughtful to give this to you for your birthday. I am glad that you had such a nice time. I send love to all. XOXOX Lura

I didn't know you caught a carnation, how cool! I love that place, too. It looks like everyone really enjoyed it, what a perfect place to go on your b-day.

Looks like you guys had a fun time. I've been to the Medieval Times in Vegas. I would like to take the boys sometime. I think they would like it. Since we have one so close.

I have never been to one of those restaurants - but on your recommendation I just might have to try it.

I really want to eat with my hands...
