The 2009 Capital One Adolphus Christmas Parade

Yesterday we decided to brave the cold(and I mean COLD-in the twenties!) and head down to the downtown Dallas Christmas Parade. We had never been before and were excited to check it out. It was AMAZING! I can't believe we had never even heard about it until last year when we were watching TV and saw it-we were like, what? This is in Dallas? Why aren't we there? Next year we have to go! So, we went this year(we totally skipped out on our ward's brunch-we're bad!) We had so much fun-it was worth waking up at the crack of dawn and freezing our booties off. We went with our friends, the Stromness'(who also have 3 daughters), and had lots of fun. We took a TON of pictures, I am not exaggerating. So, I'll post a few of my favorites and then put the rest into a slideshow for anyone that wants to see fifty more:) This parade was so fun that we plan on making it a yearly tradition for sure! If you live in the area, this is a must-see for your family!

The little ones bundled up in 28 degrees. Cali looks slightly miserable, but when the sun came out, she perked right up:)
The two older girls. One of them was the daughter of another friend of ours we brought-she was smart wearing a ski mask. I wanted to steal it.

The fam right before the parade started. Don't we look handsome:)

Aubrey and her pal Courtney stayed warm by sharing a chair:)

And the parade begins!(we are looking at the big fat Santa balloon)

The big highlight for the kids was that Selena Gomez, Disney Channel's "Wizards of Waverly Place" star and singer was there. Joey snapped a few good shots of her. We're going to sell them for big bucks:) Haha.

I swear this was the real Batman

Really big candy canes

Star Wars characters(Joey's favorite:)

Miss America

Hello Kitty

Cali's favorites were Frosty the Snowman and Strawberry Shortcake. Heres Frosty!

And of course, it ended with Santa Clause himself.
And I'll post more pics in a slideshow next (for all you Grandmas, Grandpas & Aunts out there:)

Holly, you guys always do the most fun things and have the greatest time! How wonderful for you and the family! I would have loved to go to a parade like this when I was a child. I had to make do with watching the big Eaton's one on the telly! Oh what a joy it was when we finally got to see Santa Claus at the end! I would never sit on his lap, but did love to see him in his sleigh!
