Dickens of a Christmas

I love our city. We are close to Dallas, yet far enough away. We have new subdivisions, shopping, etc. yet we also have one of the coolest historic districts around. Each year downtown, our city has a "Dickens of a Christmas" weekend where downtown is decorated, lit up, people are dressed all Victorian-ish, there is music, Santa, all kinds of stuff. We had never been because we had usually been in Corpus, but this year we were in town so we got to check it out. It was fun, but I think the shindig they hold in Frisco is better. Sorry, but its true! I was hoping for more carolers and some snow machines-nada. I'm glad we finally got to go though. The weather was great, we saw lots of friends, rode the carousel, listened to music, saw a goofy looking snowman, and enjoyed just walking around looking at everything. Here are pics from our Saturday night. . .
Time to ride some horsies
Cali reeeeally liked this guy and kept waving to him. It was so cute.
Tic Tac Toe

Can you guess who won? Ella was not happy.
I just thought this was cool. So I took a picture.

Real reindeer!

And a llama at the petting zoo area. Watch out, they spit.

And no, you won't see any Santa pictures on this blog. Ella still does not want to sit on the big guys lap. Remember this post from two years back? Yeah, I have a feeling she won't be much different. Shes just a little taller.

It looks like a fabulous evening Holly! I was terrified of Santa Claus when I was a girl. Nobody could get me to sit on his lap for anything!

I was bummed with the Dickens festival this year. Last year was better. It seemed like you had to pay for everything. Looks like you guys still had a fun evening. The weather was perfect.

I love the name of the scene like Dickens Village. The carousel is nice, did you know they took the carousel out of the mall :( with the new remodel. I love the real reindeer. Looks like the other real ones we saw when we went to the north pole many years ago. Congratulations Aubrey. Ella I'm sure you could win too especially if Nana played I hardly ever win. Cali I like that guy you were waving at too. Good times.
