Jonas Brothers Concert!

Last weekend, we took the girls to the Jonas Brothers concert-woohoo! We went last year, sorta last minute, and got crappy lawn seats and could barely see the boys. I promised the kids that year that when they came to Dallas again, we'd go and we'd get good seats. And I make good on my promises! :) So me, Aubrey, Ella, my mom, two of my aunts, my cousin and her friend rocked it on the 7th row. The show was sooo fun! Jordin Sparks opened for it and was fantastic. Then the boys came out, sang all their best stuff, and didn't disappoint. They are such cute wholesome boys(I hope that doesn't change!) with lots of talent. And they are great performers. And then, when we thought the show was over Miley Cyrus appeared! Nick Jonas & Miley Cyrus elevated from underneath the stage and sang a duet together. It was such a shock and my girls were thrilled(I was too-it made the money I paid even more worth it!) However, my cousin and her friend were not happy. They have mega crushes on Mr. Nick Jonas, so they weren't too thrilled to see him with Miley(they are hoping Miley & Nick are not back together again because they both plan on marrying him:). It was hilarious to see them shouting, "Noooo!" and putting their hands in the air when Miley came out. Ahhh, silly girls. Anyways, it was such a fun night. The girls were falling asleep in the car on the way home, tuckered out from a rockin night at the Cowboys Stadium(yes, the brand spankin new stadium, it was huge and AWESOME!)

My sister, myself and the girls made some signs for the concert(My sis, Tara, didn't come to the concert, but she helped and watched Cali while we went. What a sweetie:) And don't you love how my 7 year old wrote, "I love Nick." Aye. I told her I didn't know if her daddy would approve of that one. . .

This is one of Tara's signs. I made my mom hold it for the picture:) Don't worry Dad. . .shes all yours:)

My mom and my aunt Cindy

Reagan, my cousin Kellye and my aunt Karen.

Shots of the boys in action. . .

Cotton candy from Grandma-yum!

These two were fun to watch:) They knew the words to every song and sang their hearts out.

Jordin sang "Battlefield" with the Jonas Brothers. I thought that it was a great performance.

Miley & Nick. Cover your eyes Kellye:)

Me, my mom & the girls after the show. Thanks so much for coming Mom-it was a fun memory to share with you!
And we had to take some pics in front of a Cowboys sign! We're Texans and gotta show our Cowboy pride! :) Grandma & her big girls.

Cindy & Kellye(Cindy is a hardcore Cowboys fan-I think thats the main reason she came to the concert actually, to see inside the new phat stadium!)

Me and my girls in front of the JoBros van. The girls each signed their name on it.
As we left, I snapped a shot of the stadium. It looks like an alien ship or something! It is so ginormous.

Thanks for a fun night everyone! I had a blast and I know my girls did too! And yes, I actually do like the Jonas Brothers and I'm 28 years old.

Ain't no shame in my game.

Girls' Night at The Cheesecake Factory

Every now and then I'll come home from a girls night with my friends or a date with Joey with some leftover cheesecake(not too often though, I'm a pig and I usually finish it off) To Aubrey, The Cheesecake Factory, is this really cool fancy dessert place reserved for adults, since we've never taken them. She always says its not fair that we get to go and always asks if she can come too. Well, I decided to make her little dreams come true the other evening when my mom was here visiting. We surprised the kids with a dessert night. Aubrey's eyes got so big when we pulled up and her smile was even bigger!
Us girls
Perusing the selections. There are so many to choose from. Its always a tough choice. . .
Look at Aubrey's face as she reads the sign for "Coffee" cheesecake. Ew! Thats my girl:)

The girls chose the 3oth Anniversary cheesecake and loved it. Nice choice ladies!

And mighty perdy too.

My mom ordered the same and Cali and I shared the Godiva cheesecake(whoa, now that was rich!) After eating, Cali got all silly on us. I think it was the Godiva sugar rush kicking in. I love it when she makes this face. She tries to look all serious, but at the same time has this hilarious smirk on her face with a little raised eyebrow. It always makes us laugh:)

She totally knows shes a cutie.
It was a fun night full of decadent cheesecake goodness, smiles, and later to my chagrin: indigestion.

Sleepy Joe

This is just too funny not to post. . .the kids were coloring with their Tata and he got a little sleepy. . .

My father in law Joe is always falling asleep in the most hilarious places and positions. Remember this post? I'm glad he doesn't mind that we laugh, take pictures, and then post them on the world wide web for all to see:) We also have been known to pile up stuffed animals, toys, books, you name it, on top of him while he slumbers. And we love to wake him up in the most delightful ways(turning out all the lights and then hovering a lighted RC helicopter in his face was one of my favorites.) But he always smiles and laughs...after the initial shock and fright:)
We love you Joe!

Wicked with my mom

No, my mom and I weren't bad :) We went and saw "Wicked" in San Antonio a couple of weeks ago! I took my mom to her first broadway show for her birthday and it was lots of fun. I was able to go last year with my buddy Kim and loved it, so I had to take my mama when I heard it was coming to Texas! Once again, the show was AWESOME!
The show played at the Majestic Theatre-which was beautiful! It is a really old theatre with a magical feel. The interior was just gorgeous with intricate artistic detail everywhere. I felt like I was in an old movie!
We spent half the day in San Antonio before the show started at 8pm. We went to the Riverwalk, shopped, ate at the Rainforest Cafe, sipped smoothies and just plain enjoyed ourselves. . .

The Rainforest really starts to give you monkey fever. Well, it only did it to me. I didn't see any other people acting like monkeys. I guess I'm just special.
Scenic views. I LOVE the riverwalk. LOVE it. So pretty!

It was a wonderful day! I hadn't spent one on one time with my mom like this since we went to San Antonio to go wedding dress shopping over 9 years ago! Thanks Joey for letting me go while we were in Corpus and taking care of the kiddos. I was able to share some fun memories with my mom that I will never forget!

Fathers

Waking up Daddy from a nap this afternoon with cards and presents

I have been blessed with many wonderful fathers in my life: my wonderful husband, Joey, who is the best dad I could've asked for for my children. So loving, so fun, so patient and so sweet. My kids have got it good! He is just wonderful. I could go on and on about him all day long:) Then there is my own father who has a great sense of humor, is smart, and has always worked hard for our family. I've never doubted his love for me. My father-in-law, Joe, who is gentle, humble, and a man of integrity. He taught his children well and I'm grateful to him for helping Joey to be the amazing man he is today. And my grandfathers who have both played an important part in my life. I fondly remember zoo trips that my Grandpa Smith took us on as children. And my Grandpa Adams always has a joke to tell and a smile on his face. They are all such special people. The world wouldn't be complete without these strong men! Happy Father's Day to all the daddies and grandaddies out there!

This is a wonderful video about the value of fathers that I wanted to share today. It really touched my heart. . .its 7 minutes long, but take the time to watch every minute. . .

Beach fun in the sun-I rhymed!

You can't visit CC in the summer and not visit the beach! We went with Joey's parents and his sister's family one day and had a sweet time playing in the sand and chasing the waves. . .
We tried to pose for a family picture. I didn't like this pose. . .because when I looked at it on the camera, it looks as though Joey and I aren't wearing any clothes-hahaha. Oopsie. . .quite scandalous I must say! :)
So we took a few more(appropriate:) pictures and this one was my favorite. . .
