A little surprise in our bushes. . .

We found a cardinal nest in our front bushes a couple of weeks ago with, get this, real eggs! :) Not those fake kind that my sister likes to beat open with a mallet....lol. They hatched last week and are so cute! Here is one with its little head poking out and beak wiiiide open hoping for food. Sorry little guy, we got nothin for ya. And we actually delayed you getting food by being around. Please forgive us.

What a wonderful learning experience for the girls! When my kids were growing up, one year a bird had a nest in bush that was right next to our living room window. We got to watch it all pretty close up and personal! It was great!

Aw, how cute! :) And I'm glad the eggs were actually REAL! But can you imagine what I would have done to them if I had seen them first?!? whaahahaha Oh and I see your computer baby is fattening up. He was looking a little crazy all skinny and alien-like there for a while. ;)
