Halloween Photo Shoot

On Halloween Night, Joey took a few pics of each kiddo. Here is Aubrey, our Totally 80's gal. Totally cute. The kids picked their own poses, not sure how I feel about the last two of Aubs...a glimpse into my future with sassy teenage girls I suppose? Yikes:) I think she was just getting into character. . .

Here is Ella as sweet Dorothy Gale. I like braids, gingham, a cute puppy and a smile much more. Lets stay that way girls. . .:)

And here is adorable Minnie Mouse. These pictures are awesome-the colors just pop! Such a cutie. She was the cutest Minnie. And quite the candy inhaler.

Love this one! Look at that dimple.

And here is our cute lil monkey. We managed to get a few pictures of him when he wasn't crying. It was a fussy weekend for this kid. You'll see in the next post:)

Here he is making monkey sounds, "ooh ooh ah ah!" lol.

Happy monkey

Happy Halloween!!!!

Ammon meets his Great Grandparents

My grandparents came up to the DFW area not too long ago and stayed with my Aunt Cindy. We went and visited them while they were here so Ammon could meet his Great Grandma and Grandpa Adams(my mom's parents). I was so happy we were able to see them!

Cali ripping leaves off my Aunt Cindy's tree I guess? I don't know- Joey took this picture! Sorry Cindy:) But Cali sure does look cute doing it. . .

Pumpkin painting

Every year we let the girls paint the little pumpkins they picked out at the pumpkin patch. And every year they get more artistic and have more fun with it! Here are the pumpkins they did this week. They turned out spooktacular(so lame that I used that word, I know:)
Oooohhh, scarrryy!

Cali actually tried to draw a face this year! Woohoo! Last years was just so much paint that the pumpkin looked like it lost a fight real bad:)

Look who's got glasses!

A couple of weeks ago, Aubrey came home from school with a note from the nurse. She had failed her vision screening test:( So I took her to the eye doc a few days ago and she has 20/70 vision in her left eye 20/25 in her right. Poor kid. Shes been seeing a little blurry for a little while I guess-we had no idea! The doctor said that her right eye had been pulling a lot of the weight. She is actually seeing decently with both eyes, but when she is only using her left eye, she can barely read huge letters! So she is a bit near-sighted and the doctor said that she only has to wear her glasses at school. Its her choice to use them other times. One great thing about this experience is how excited Aubrey was about this. I wasn't sure what she would think, but she was waaaay excited when I told her she might need glasses(and Ella was like, "no fair!" Funny girls:) So, it was a really fun experience for her picking out her glasses! She couldn't wait to go to school wearing them today. She came home smiling telling me about all the nice things teachers and kids said(I was relieved-some kids are mean!)

Doesn't she look so old wearing them? It seems to have aged her a couple of years! Oh, and a funny thing she said when she first put them on was, "Everything looks more beautiful now!" So cute. I think she looks adorable in her new frames and I just love how she has embraced them!

Crazy little dancer

Cali started dance class last week! Its a fun little ballet/tap/gymnastics combo class that she is now taking once a week. I wasn't sure how she'd do in it. Starting back in July, she became extra clingy to me. She didn't want to go to the nursery at church, didn't want to go to library storytime anymore, didn't even want me to go upstairs without her! It was tough, especially with the new baby. The past couple of weeks she has finally show signs of improvement. I can now go upstairs without her melting down:) And she has let me leave her in the nursery the past couple of Sundays with only a couple of tears and not a major freak out. So, we're making progress there. Anyways, her first day of dance class she walked right in. Much different than the clinging-to-my-leg-while-screaming that I was imagining:) And not only did she participate, she was overly talkative and dancing all over the place like a crazy kid. She was smiling and shaking her hips like crazy. She was in her own world but man oh man was she having fun:) I was laughing so hard at the things she was saying to her teacher. For example, she told her teacher, "These shoes used to be Ella's" to which her teacher responded, "How special is that!" Then Cali said, "Sometimes Ella is mean to me." I also saw her last week licking the mirror during class while all the other little girls were sitting down listening to the teacher. Niiice. So basically, not only is she no longer very shy, she is "that kid":) The kid who doesn't listen, the kid who dances to the beat of her own drummer and the kids who says funny things while the teacher is trying to teach. Cali just has a really hard time listening, whether its at home or anywhere else so its pretty funny watching someone else have to deal with it-hehe:) Its funny how all kids are different, doesn't matter if they have the same parents! They all come with their own little spirits and personality. We've learned that with having Cali:) Cali is a cutie, thats for sure. And she is lucky for that. lol

Such a sweet daughter. . .

One Month Old

Ok, so I'm a couple of weeks late posting this but Ammon hit one month old! Its crazy how time flies, isn't it? Especially when you have children. Seems like just yesterday I was huge and pregnant with this boy! He is such a sweetie, already sleeps through the night and loves to give us smiles and the occasional coo. And he is growing really fast-at his last doctors visit, right at his one month mark, he was 10 lbs 13 oz already! Still a big boy! And such a joy. Here are a couple of pics I took the day of his doctors visit. . .all cute in his elephant jacket:)

Pumpkin Patch 2010

We visited Flower Mound this weekend for our annual trip to the pumpkin patch. We had lots of fun! The kids enjoyed picking out their pumpkins(we let them each pick out a small one, we're too cheap to pay pumpkin patch prices on the big ones:) They also jumped in bounce houses, went down slides, rode a little train, jumped off a big haystack, and got their faces painted. Its a super fun place that we look forward to visiting every year!

Our beautiful children, all 4 of em. I have to say I'm proud of my bunch!

Squeaky clean

Pictures from Ammon's very first tub bath....he enjoyed it!

"Um, what are these people doing to me?"

I love hooded towels! Nothing cuter than a sweet baby all wrapped up after a bath.

Is that a lil smile I see?

T-Mobile's finest....

Joey was recently featured on T-Mobile's internal main homepage for his achievements in his career and education. So basically, every employee at T-Mobile saw his face on Friday-It was a huge honor and he is now "famous" at T-Mobile:) He said the day he was featured he received many many emails, comments on the site, and personal congratulations that day at work. It was an awesome day for him. He has done so much over the past 1o years managing his family, his career and attaining his degrees. It was nice for him to get nationwide recognition through T-Mobile. I'm proud of you too! Here is the copy and paste of the article(and the picture I posted was put on the site also. Its Joey and his current boss, Chris). I changed the article by taking out last names, but other than that, this is what was written about MY MAN....congrats Joey!

Senior Engineer Jose (“Joey”)'s career and family have grown rapidly over the last decade: four promotions, three degrees, numerous T-Mobile achievement awards, and four kids. Joey credits his wife, T-Mobile’s culture and a line of supportive managers – Joe Q., Brian M., Tony S. and current manager Chris G. –with encouraging his career growth. Chris says that Joey is an equally-important part of that equation and calls him one of the most self-motivated people he knows. It’s a relationship that has yielded great rewards for everyone involved – Joey, his family and T-Mobile.

Needed a Job, Didn’t Own a Cell Phone

Joey’s career with T-Mobile began in 2000 at the Corpus Christi, Texas, engineering warehouse where he drove a forklift and made deliveries to various cell sites. By his own admission, he didn’t join T-Mobile because of some larger interest in telecommunications.“I needed a job and this one was available,” he explains. “I didn’t even own a cell phone at the time.”

Manager Showed Him Opportunities in Technology

But soon after he joined, he took it upon himself to learn about the technology he was handling each day. The plant management team also took an interest in Joey. The local plant manager exposed him to the opportunities in emerging technology, prompting Joey to alter his associates’ degree path to one that focused more on telecommunications. In 2003, with a newly-acquired associate’s degree and a few promotions under his belt, Joey enrolled at Texas A&M University to begin work on a bachelor’s degree, which he received in 2007. Along the way, his managers gave him the flexibility necessary to accommodate classes and study groups.“Across every role I’ve held, there’s been a continuous theme of encouragement,” says Joey. “I’ve been incredibly fortunate that my managers have been very accommodating.”Self-motivation and

Professionalism Pay Off

Chris says personal goals never detracted from Joey's professionalism and that he used exceptional time-management skills to balance work, family and education effectively.“Even though I knew he was spending long hours at home doing schoolwork and caring for his family, he never failed to get his day-to-day work done,” Chris says. “He has every bit as much pride in his daily work as his education.” Joey's responsibilities didn’t stop when he left work or the classroom. He and his wife have three daughters (ages 9, 6 and 3) and their latest family addition, a three-week-old son. Joey points to T-Mobile’s Education Assistance Program as a huge stress-reliever for him and his wife because it deferred a considerable amount of his tuition and allowed them to provide for their growing family.

Four Promotions and an MBA

The investment Joey and T-Mobile made in his education has seemingly paid off – contributing to four promotions within 10 years. In addition to the promotions, Joey has been regularly recognized within T-Mobile. He received the highest engineering award, the “Tops in Ops” in 2007 and 19 Peak Achievement nominations from 2002-2010. Joey added a Master’s in Business Administration degree to his resume in July 2009 and hopes to use this new knowledge in a managerial role one day – at T-Mobile of course.“I’m a loyal person and T-Mobile has certainly been loyal to me,” he says. “I’m truly grateful for the investment that this company has made in me, my family and my future. Thank you T-Mobile!”
