Easter Fun Stuff

Easter weekend was lots of fun. Every year seems to get better and better with the more kids you have and the more things you get to experience together! Every Easter Eve, we have fun dyeing eggs. This year we tried "Glitter Eggs" and they turned out nice and sparkly. Cali was extra cute with her facial expressions and excitement. And this year, a few eggs were dropped and cracked with a few near-meltdowns, but it was still fun:) I think every one of us dropped an egg this year-we're cool like that. Aubrey and Ella decided to write sweet notes to the Easter Bunny asking him questions and thanking him(sadly this will be the last time Aubrey does. . .thanks to a boy at school that ruined things for her last week. . .arggg) and left them in their baskets. I love how grateful and thoughtful these girls are. And this is so cute - Ella wrote in her letter, "Don't forget Ammon! Hes new." :) When they woke up Easter morning, they rushed around the house to find their baskets(the Easter Bunny hides their baskets inside for some extra hunting fun) and we heard lots of squeals of delight as they found them. They must've been very good this year because they got lots of fun things in their baskets: kites, jumpropes, hexbugs(these super cool toys), chocolate bunnies, marshmallow bunnies, other candy, and a huge cadbury plastic egg filled with cadbury minis and cadbury creme eggs. The hunt in the backyard made for some cute sleepy-eyed pajama pictures as always. . . and Ammon enjoyed every bit of his very first Easter. The Easter Bunny brought him a bottle and soft block books. We decided to let Ammon try water in a bottle to see if he would take to sucking on a bottle and he likes it! He caught right on. After all of the Easter morning fun, we had omelets for breakfast and then got ready for church. It was a beautiful meeting with music from the choir. And then we came home and ate a nice ham dinner, just the 6 of us, followed by Aubrey & Ella helping me to ice our bunny cake. They did a great job! It was their first time to use an actual icing bag/tip. They really enjoyed it. I love doing stuff in the kitchen with the kids. We had a wonderful day as a family! We missed extended family though, but were able to talk on the phone and do webcam which is pretty close to the real thing! Modern technology is pretty awesome! Here are the pics from the weekend. . .and don't worry, no captions :) I've said enough! lol
