Groovy Day

Ella and Cali's elementary school had "Groovy Day" last month. It was the funniest thing ever. They had all the kids wear retro clothes and had them do this flash mob style dance to "The Hustle" on the front lawn. They had been practicing it for a couple of weeks in P.E. It was adorable. One thing I can say about their new school is it is FUN. The teachers and staff are party animals :) And both of my girls teachers are awesome. I've been very happy with the change in schools! Our last school, well, I won't go there...they had great teachers...that's about it :) Lets just say I had some issues there...

Enjoy the pics I took(they aren't that great). I barely survived the afternoon with Wes in the Bjorn and Ammon in the stroller..trying to carry my bag and take pics all at the same time. I made it though:) Oh, and here is a link to a video of the dance on their website if you wanna check it out :) I think the staff had even more fun than the kids, (probably since most of them actually lived in those "groovy days" :) lol

Cali was with the sweet little Kindergartners right in the front. She did every move so perfectly :) Made me smile so big to see her do that. She can be shy sometimes.

Group shot

The kids in action. Cali is easy to see. Half of Ella's face is behind the kid in the center with a hat on.

Hard to see Ella but if you look close she is towards the right side of the photo, towards the top, with a shiny tie around her head. The one with the beautiful tan of course :)

It was a grooooovy day :)

A little brother's care. . .

I can't get this picture to turn the right way. Blerg. Its the right way in my picture folder but Blogger keeps turning it around. Well, anyways...tilt your head to the right and you will see the cutest funniest picture. Cali had gone to her room to get ready for bed and just plopped into bed without changing and fell fast asleep. We found Ammon in her room putting a Rangers cap on her and putting her teddy bear beside her. It was so precious! When he isn't biting or pinching them, he really is a sweet brother  :)

Celina Balloon Festival

I recently won tickets to attend the nearby balloon festival in Celina. I was so excited because we had to miss the one in Plano this year(Wes had just been born and honestly after two years in a row of a suckity time there I think we are done with that...we'll see:) And Celina is so close to us so I was like, yessss! Maybe we'll actually get to see some balloons this year. Anyways, the day came and the weather had gotten chilly. Wouldn't have been too bad if it hadn't been crazy windy. We contemplated just staying home but we decided to brave the wind and cold since it was free. And our family can't pass up free because well, we are just plain cheap like that. So because of the wind, the balloons didn't fly(Of course! Year #3 that we have gone to a balloon festival and the balloons never existed...arggg) but what we did love about this festival was the amount of things to do. It was basically a big old carnival. We really don't go to carnivals, like, ever so we decided since our admission was free, lets let the kids have some fun and ride some overpriced carny rides. They had so much fun! It was the older girls first time to ride some of those spinning type rides. Would've been more fun if the wind didn't freeze their little faces off, but they still had a blast. I'll never forget laughing so hard as I watched the speeds pick up and their faces change-hahaha. We did that, enjoyed some live music and ate funnel cakes. Overall, a fun and cold time. Oh, and how could I forget. As we were embarking on our walk from our parked car to the festival, one of the worker dudes pulled up in this big 4 wheel hunting thing(Joey would know what its called but of course I don't) and let us get a ride in it since we had so many kids and a baby. Joey thought that was the coolest thing ever. He and Ammon rode on top and had a blast. I think that was Joey's favorite part of the whole evening :) Might've been one of my faves too. I love passing people up and yelling, "Suckas!" I didn't do that but I imagined it...I do that when I drive sometimes...or when we get the Fastpass at Disneyland....

Okay, if you look close at this one, you'll see the powdered sugar from my funnel cake on little Wesley's hoodie :) A woman's gotta eat.

The sweet ride. Dang, we felt so cool. We were VIPs yo.When you have a million kids, it sometimes pays off :)  People pity you I guess, hahaha.

Getting ready to ride. Aubrey was nervous. Ella wasn't. Thats how it always begins with rides. But whats funny is how it usually ends. The opposite: Aubrey handles it well and Ella is the one who is traumatized. She is overconfident sometimes :) But neither was traumatized here..they both loved the rides they went on. So, phew, no tears or trauma. Space Mountain last year was a different story.

There was even a mini one for Cali to enjoy :) She was so cute.

I loved seeing their little faces so happy! So we went hoping to see balloons and we ended up basically just going to a carnival. Oh well. I know the kids didn't mind at all!

Ella's Yo Gabba Gabba: Lego Style

Ella is our creative genius..always making something out of nothing...I am always amazed at what she comes up with. Here is one of her latest creations: Lego Yo Gabba Gabba characters. They look pretty awesome! Especially since she doesn't watch the show..she has seen bits and pieces when Ammon has watched it. And she didn't look at a picture beforehand. I even posted this picture on their Facebook page and got some comments :)They are in this little case because the older girls were making their own "intro" to the show with it and videotaping themselves imitating that weird dude with the orange outfit and crazy glasses:) It was hilarious. That show is so strange to me. But Ammon loves it.

Cali and Mommy's Cinnamon Rolls

I have never tried my hand at homemade cinnamon rolls..I'll admit I always use the refrigerated Pillsbury can of dough. Hey, Pillsbury makes a mean cinnamon roll, why mess that up?? :) Anyways, on General Conference Sunday(I'm backtracking a bit I know) I decided to finally do it. I took the plunge. Cali was my big helper and had lots of fun kneading the dough and putting them in the pans for me(the older two helped some too but Cali was my right hand man the whole way through:). I'll never forget she was my cinnamon roll helper! Thanks Cali girl!!! They were very yummy! We even made the cream cheese frosting ourselves too. We did it! We were proud of ourselves:) It was a delicious conference morning breakfast.

Wesley is 3 months!

Enjoy sweet pictures of our little sweetie. These pics are my favorite so far! Especially the last one-he just looks so soft in that one(because he is!) And I love those big brown eyes. All of our kids have the biggest deepest brown eyes and they are gorgeous.

So, now that Wesley has hit 3 months life is SO much easier. He does so much better in his carseat...its not the constant scream anymore. He is loving sitting in his little bouncy chair now and kicking his feet to make the toys jiggle. He has totally discovered his feet and toes. Its so so cute. He is becoming more of a happy little dude. He smiles so much and has even giggled now. Baby giggles are the best! He is such a blessing to our family. He makes us feel totally complete! Life is good :) Love you Wesley!

We've had these stretchy pants for years. Finally, they were put to good use...

It seems as though Wesley enjoyed wearing them more than we could've possibly imagined. Maybe we have a future Luchador in the making....we better go and search for some eagle eggs so he can have "mageecal powers." Yes, we are total Nacho Libre dorks.

If you are wondering where we got this awesome little pants, they were what was wrapped around our Nacho Libre DVD when we bought it..a little souvie or something. We always said when we had a son, we would put them on him and take pics. We forgot to with Ammon. So were the lucky one:)

Cold front crazies

When the first really cold front of the season rolled in, these three goofballs grabbed whatever was on the top of the pile of jackets in our closet, bundled up and went outside to run around in it. I love how Aubrey and Cali are wearing snow gloves, beanies, but instead of coats, little jackets. And Ella is wearing her Daddy's jacket:) These are some funny little girls.

Carved Works of Art Right Here

I forgot to post these pics of our Jack O Lanterns. Well,  I guess they really aren't Jack O Lanterns. More like Ghost and Owl O Lanterns. Whatever. I don't know what I'm saying. Bottom line: they were rad.

Halloween 2012

I think this was one of my most favorite Halloweens EVER. The weather was amazing, cool and clear skies. The kids were happy. We couldn't stop laughing at how cute Ammon looked as Yoda, waddling up to each door:) The kids were all just so cute and excited to go to every house. I just remember being happy that night. It was our first Halloween in our new neighborhood. The homes are spread apart pretty far so we weren't sure how much candy the kids would get or how far we'd have to walk, but it was perfect. We hit maybe a dozen homes and each home gave them a good handful of candy so they felt that was good enough(Phew, I didn't want to walk miles! I'm just plain lazy like that.) We put Cali and Ammon in our little red Radio Flyer wagon, I had Wes in the Bjorn and the older two girls walked.  We looked adorable I think:) A couple of people asked if these were all our kids. Yup. They is. :) We got quite the posse these days. Halloween this year was one of those nights where I just soaked it in....being a mom...wife...the memories we make together..I was content. I love these people of mine! I am so blessed.
