Zombie Apocalypse

Found these delightful pictures in the picture folder today....I almost wet myself when I laughed just now looking at them. I guess Ammon got a hold of the camera one day and no one knew it.

Meet Ammon the Zombie and his collection of scenic photographs of our messy office desk pileup.

Sunday Snuggles

Sundays are always the best days to snuggle...I saw this the other day after we got home from church and had to grab my camera to capture this sweet moment between a daddy and two of his munchkins.

What does your family do on Sundays? For us, its church in the morning...home for lunch, "snuggles" as you can see, family games, reading, blogging for me which I categorize as journaling, naps(I try to encourage ALL to nap, but the older girls don't want to darnit! They don't understand why anyone would want to. They will when they have kids of their own! Ha. Joey and I love to nap! :), and we always make some kind of a homemade dessert for after dinner together. Sometimes I even get in a little bit of family history indexing which I really enjoy. I love me some Sundays.

Happy 12th Aubrey!

So we have been party animals lately as you can see...every August/September is a little nuts around here. But its the good nuts :) Aubrey is 12! I still can't believe it. In our church, that means she graduates from Primary and enters the youth program. She is in Young Womens! Its just so crazy to me still. It seems like just yesterday we were taking her to Sunbeams(youngest Primary class) for the first time. Sniff sniff. Weird how within the same few months we have one leaving Primary and one entering glad we have so many kids...its comforting to know I get to do this with lots of them and I still have lots of littles right now:) I don't like them growing up!Okay, I do, but I don't. I love watching them grow and learn and become who they are, but I wish I could slow time down a bit sometimes...sigh...

So for her big 12, we decided to have her big party here at our home. We rented a ginormous inflatable water slide for the backyard and put up our volleyball net for water balloon volleyball. We did a Despicable Me themed party and it was so fun! I got a couple of cute ideas from Pinterest: the minion lemonade and the box of shame photo booth :) I also found minion cupcakes on a few sites and did my own easier version. They turned out super cute and tasty. My own idea(sometimes I have my own:) was using yellow water balloons and drawing minion faces on them so they were chucking minions over the net. Also, I purchased purple and yellow popcorn balls from a local candy shop, Mom and Popcorn, put googly eyes on them and faces. Those were the take home gifts for the girls. The girls started off with the water slide and dang, those girls were crazy on there. I was just praying no one would hurt themselves the whole time with their shenanigans:) Then they ate pizza and did the water balloon volleyball. Then pics and more water sliding, cupcake eating, and present opening. Aubrey had a great night with LOTS of friends and scored in the presents department. She said it was the best birthday ever(and that was our goal..we wanted her 12th to be memorable:) I am so thrilled she has so many good friends in our new town(and some old bffs came out too!) There is a great group of kids up here! Thanks to everyone who came and shared in her special day! And thanks to family who sent gifts and called! Oh yeah, and texted:) Her big gift from us was cell phone service!!!!!!!! She is a happy girl. Gosh darnit, she deserved it. She is a SUPER fantastic girl. We love her to pieces and are so proud of who she is. While I brace myself for the teen years coming up, I know she'll set a good example for her siblings. She is a strong girl who always wants to do good. She has a special light within her that shines bright. No one is perfect, but I know she will always try. Right, Aubrey, right??? :) LOVE YOU!

These first few pics are from her actual birthday. I made a cinnamon roll breakfast and let her open her gift from Joey's parents(VB purse) and we called her on her cell phone to wake her up in the morning :) Hehe. Had to let her open these in the morning so she could take them to school! She felt so cool that morning :)

When we walked outside, we found that the Beehives from church had "stung" the night before with sweet notes and balloons/decor. It was so thoughtful!

Presents from siblings and my parents...Cali and Ella always go all out for sweet how much thought they put into their little gifts!

My parents gift was a mini trampoline she had been reeeally wanting. And here she is wearing it...she loves to strike goofy poses:) Thanks yall! She has been jumping for days now:) And taking pictures of every jump...

The kids all wanted to pose for a picture, seriously. I didn't ask for this. They rock. Love these crazy five!

PARTY TIME! Most of these pics don't need captions...they all pretty much speak for themselves. It was a fun time!

I have to note that Aubrey decorated the guy in the front(silver wrapper) herself :) She made it extra special. and did a great job! I was too lazy/strapped for time to add the straps to the guys eyes..and I wanted to do hair too. Just didn't happen. But they are still darlin.

The kids were all eating/trying the peppers that were in the Papa John's pizza boxes..brave souls... :)

Some of them have cheer fever, Aubrey being included. Thats another post...

This is what happened when the balloon came to Joey and Ammon. Ammon just let go :) Hahaha.

Aubrey & posse

Beautiful sweet girls inside and out!

This girl sailed right outta there...LOL. Love this girl, she lives next door :)

Just a couple of Box of Shame photos...if you don't know why we did this, click here.

Wesley was there too! :)

 Opening presents with a smile

Our own little minion. Cali found this eyeball(it had fallen off the lemonade:) and decided to slap it on. Then Ella had a great idea and put it on the back of her head and said, "I have eyes in the back of my head!" That picture is on my phone..but you can visualize:)

Ammon is THREE!!!

Ammon turned the big 3 last week! Such a fun age hes at(and thankfully hes coming out of the twos...hes a sweetheart but man, he wasn't using his "words" very much..more likely his teeth and fists...little hulk:) LOL. Ammon has such a special place in this Mama's heart. He is so loving and tender and sweet(to me, haha, jk he is to everyone, just don't tick him off:). When he is himself and rested and feeling good, he is the sweetest boy ever. He is so friendly and has never had a hard time with going to nursery at church(thank you child!). The nursery leader has told us several times that we sent her the "perfect child!" :) He loves to be silly and laugh-he and Cali were quite the duo this summer let me tell ya. I was just telling Joey the other day how hes got me wrapped around his little finger. If I take him to the grocery store with me and he asks for something(usually this would be a box of gummies or a lunchable..I'm not talking a new bike or something:), I pretty much say yes to anything. Haha. I can't say no when he smiles so sweetly and behaves so well there! He is my little helper there. His favorite things right now are Jake and the Neverland Pirates...Wonder Pets...and the Hulk(well he loves all the Avengers even though hes never really seen the shows/movies..he just somehow knows they are cool:) He also loooves his Tonka trucks and pushing them around on our back porch. He just got a couple of new ones from Joey's parents that he loves and has quite a set now. For his birthday, I think his favorite gift has to be the Jake Ship and characters he got from my mom and sister(I gave them a hint as to what he likes:) He has been playing with those non-stop since his party! He has them talk to each other..fight each other...he pushes the ship around the living room, shoots missiles, he even shares with Wesley and lets him be some "guys" too. Its so cute. Lately he has become a much more gentle big brother with Wesley and sees him as more than a baby, he calls Wesley his "brudder" and "fren" :) I love to see them playing together! The cute things Ammon says these days are, "Member?" or "Can I play this? Yes or no?" or "No fair!"(ok, thats NOT cute, but he says it unfortunately and has no idea what it means other than hes not happy about something, so its funny:) He talks about "good guys" and "bad guys" and when we watch a show he'll ask me if a guy is good or bad. Hes just such a boy. I love it.

And just a recent funny: The other day I was in his room with him and he walked backward and toppled backward right into his toybox. He looked a little embarrassed and then laughed, while his feet were sticking out, put his hands on his cheeks and said, "I fell in the toybox" and starting laughing even more. It was hilarious. Aubrey and I witnessed it and I will never forget that look on his face and how he laughed instead of cried like other kids might. He then need help outta there:) At night, he always wants me to take him to bed, read him a story, sing him a song, and tuck him in. I love that time with him. He gives me so many kisses and blows them to me as I walk out. And then we catch each others kisses in the air. Hes gonna be a heartbreaker yall:)

For his birthday I threw a small party the day after at our home. It was on Labor Day when I knew Joey would be off work to help me! I don't ever want Joey missing these kids special days(and plus, I need his muscles;) Ammon's actual birthday was the Sunday before and we let him open our gifts and sang him a birthday song with a hostess cupcake that day. His "friend" party was a Jake party(of course!). We aired up our kiddie pools/water toys and made it a fun little pirate water party with snacks and cupcakes. I'm not one of those people that goes crazy with stuff, but I do like to add special touches and come up with a couple of cute ideas. We just invited a few little friends of his and it was truly the perfect party for three year olds(other than the fact that it rained/sprinkled a little that day..which was no lightning so we partied on). I came up with the idea for the kids to go on a simple little treasure hunt towards the end. Aubrey was the leader:) She held a map and walked them around the yard with Ella and Cali until they made a circle back to our porch where we had a "treasure" in a box which was lots of different colored chocolate coins. I thought it looked magical:) Ella made the big red "X" to mark the spot. I divided up the coins and thats what I had them take home in bags as their goodie bags So easy, fun and cute. And that was it! Ammon had a blast with his little nursery buddies celebrating the big 3! I can't believe he'll be a Sunbeam in January. . .sigh. . .

Party time! One happy kid.

Water fun!

 Look at that smile

Cramming snacks in his mouth. Thatta boy.

This kid was cracking us up. He looooved all the Jake figurines and tried to hold as many as he could throughout the party. He thought they were his. And was quite sad when he had to leave the party without them:) hahaha. I bet his mom will be buying these soon. Or Santa :) So cute.

Ammon's face when he saw his cupcake cake for the first time... :)

 Daddy lighting the candles

The happy birthday song!

This might just be the sweetest picture ever.

And he blew them all out at once. Or twice. :) Go Ammon!

Thankfully my friend Pam was taking pics during this part for me and got a shot of the cute cupcake cake. I didn't make it..Market Street did:)...but it was super cute! I'm so glad she took this picture or we would have no pic of it whatsoever, I forgot to!

Eating the figuring from the cake. Or the frosting on it. I think he didn't actually eat Jake.

Treasure hunting

 Serious business.

Present time

And oh my..Aubrey and Ella acting loco. Post-party party.

Me and my silly big boy :)
