And just a recent funny: The other day I was in his room with him and he walked backward and toppled backward right into his toybox. He looked a little embarrassed and then laughed, while his feet were sticking out, put his hands on his cheeks and said, "I fell in the toybox" and starting laughing even more. It was hilarious. Aubrey and I witnessed it and I will never forget that look on his face and how he laughed instead of cried like other kids might. He then need help outta there:) At night, he always wants me to take him to bed, read him a story, sing him a song, and tuck him in. I love that time with him. He gives me so many kisses and blows them to me as I walk out. And then we catch each others kisses in the air. Hes gonna be a heartbreaker yall:)
For his birthday I threw a small party the day after at our home. It was on Labor Day when I knew Joey would be off work to help me! I don't ever want Joey missing these kids special days(and plus, I need his muscles;) Ammon's actual birthday was the Sunday before and we let him open our gifts and sang him a birthday song with a hostess cupcake that day. His "friend" party was a Jake party(of course!). We aired up our kiddie pools/water toys and made it a fun little pirate water party with snacks and cupcakes. I'm not one of those people that goes crazy with stuff, but I do like to add special touches and come up with a couple of cute ideas. We just invited a few little friends of his and it was truly the perfect party for three year olds(other than the fact that it rained/sprinkled a little that day..which was no biggie...no lightning so we partied on). I came up with the idea for the kids to go on a simple little treasure hunt towards the end. Aubrey was the leader:) She held a map and walked them around the yard with Ella and Cali until they made a circle back to our porch where we had a "treasure" in a box which was lots of different colored chocolate coins. I thought it looked magical:) Ella made the big red "X" to mark the spot. I divided up the coins and thats what I had them take home in bags as their goodie bags So easy, fun and cute. And that was it! Ammon had a blast with his little nursery buddies celebrating the big 3! I can't believe he'll be a Sunbeam in January. . .sigh. . .
Party time! One happy kid.
Water fun!
Look at that smile
Cramming snacks in his mouth. Thatta boy.
This kid was cracking us up. He looooved all the Jake figurines and tried to hold as many as he could throughout the party. He thought they were his. And was quite sad when he had to leave the party without them:) hahaha. I bet his mom will be buying these soon. Or Santa :) So cute.
Ammon's face when he saw his cupcake cake for the first time... :)
Daddy lighting the candles
The happy birthday song!
This might just be the sweetest picture ever.
And he blew them all out at once. Or twice. :) Go Ammon!
Thankfully my friend Pam was taking pics during this part for me and got a shot of the cute cupcake cake. I didn't make it..Market Street did:)...but it was super cute! I'm so glad she took this picture or we would have no pic of it whatsoever, I forgot to!
Inhaling.
Eating the figuring from the cake. Or the frosting on it. I think he didn't actually eat Jake.
Treasure hunting
Serious business.
